Fade In…

Tonight, Lena's not taking care of the man from space, but instead taking time for herself. At one safe-house peppered across the cities, she paces into the kitchen and sets to making herself something warm and comforting to drink. Dark hair up, attire little more than a baggy shirt, shorts, and socks, she's less a master thief and more a bored young woman with too much crashing through her brain.

*

It is a normal night the house is all normal as well as her garb when she enters the kitchen. All is normal as she makes her nice warm drink for herself the sounds the view all is just as it should be though as soon as she leaves that room she would find herself standing in the middle of an art exhibit. There are people around though they don't seem to see her just walking around looking at the art that is around, and if tested anything would go right through them without any resistance. Lena would still be wearing, holding, everything like she was when she left the kitchen so he had changed nothing around her, but there was no living room to be seen.

A short distance away standing next to an exhibit about the 'Ice Crystal' stood one person you would reconize. Loki stands looking down at it not seeming to of noticed your entry as he just studies the gem. The others in the room seem to be able to see him smiling, and noding or walking around him as while not busy there are as said earlier people here.

*

It wasn't stopping. This nonsense of things intruding on her mind wasn't stopping; it was driving the girl mad. Sighing, she glances back to her kitchen and then forward. He wanted to talk, time to get this over with. Padding in silence toward him, sock feet and all, she stands by his side and gazes at the work of art before him. Sipping from her bowl like mug, she swallows and sighs. "Learn to use a fucking phone." She advises, voice apathetic and deadpan. "I'm going back to my 'apartment' soon. You coming or you want to talk here in la-la-land?"

*

Loki doesn't talk, but gives a small nod as you walk up next to him quietly listening. He gives a light "hump" at the phone as if he would ever lower himself to using such mediocre technology he was not a barbarian. Finally he speaks looking at the gem, "You are in your apartment.. Though I thought it might be nice to see what you are about to steal." he glances at her on that to see what kind of reaction that would return to judge if he made the right decision with her. He looks back at the crystal, "This is your thing is it not mortal? I can not be seen lowering myself to such deeds, but for the right price you can always find someone who is willing to do such work.."

He steps to the side, and you can see the crystal in the glass case. It would look exactly like it he was looking at the real thing with guards, people, camera's, whatever else might be in the room itself. "And I prefer this decour more then that small mess you call a home… Not to mention the smell." he crunches his nose a bit looking at the stone still.

*

"Yeah, no. I do my job well but like I said, learn to talk to people, hmm? You're worse than that damn monkey in Gotham that thinks he's work a damn." Glancing at the gem, the room, she passively eyes Loki before turning back around and walking toward her 'home'. "I don't work on insults. Good luck with your…whatever the hell you're doing."

*

Loki chuckles to himself, and as she takes a step she would feel a hand on her shoulder, a real hand though it is a rather firm grip. It isn't painful though it doesn't give if ya try to yank away as the person behind it is rather strong. "I am rying to talk but you are not listening." he would add releasing her as he only ment to stop her walking. "You are home.." he nods, and right infront of her would be the TV. If he had not stopped her from walking forward she may of kicked it, though Loki continues.. "It would be very unwise to turn this job down.. Though it is up to you." his tone taking one of caution.

He turns again looking back at the crystal, "It is such a simple thing, and a pay day for you on one hand, though an upset God on the other.. One would think it an easy choice." he grins to himself, "There are other people I can go to.. Perhaps you are right.. I should leave you be to your small place.. Maybe look at you as more of an obsticle rather then an asset."

*

"I'm listening. Doing what I do is below you. You can't stoop to such a thing. Where I live is below you and apparently abusive to the senses." Then she scoffs, "Was that a threat?" She stops at the touch, glaring at nothing before turning around and looking his way. "I'm listening, and you don't know how to offer a job to someone like me. I don't care who you are or what you are. If you have others to go to, do it. They're not as good as me. This is my game and I'm very good at it." Quirking a brow she gives the God the once over. "You want to try again? Or do you want to get the hell out of my house and my head?"

*

Loki sighs, and shakes his head, "It is good your at least listening to some of it though there are more important parts." he stops, and turns frowning at her at the rest of it though. He reaches his hand up, and gives a simple snap, and the room changes. It looks like your place, but the walls are on fire you can feel the heat around you and it is only getting worse.. Loki adds, "I am trying to be nice to you mortal by offering you pay for services rather then resort to this." he looks fine though the fire is starting to spread closer to her.

He just starts heading for the door which like the rest is also on fire around them though the smoke might be starting to make it hard to see. "I came here to pay you to do a job.. If you do not want it fine." is all he says as he continues to make his way to the door out now. "Once I walk out this door I will not ask again mortal.. take the money, and the job."

*

Lena growls and tosses down her mug. A quick dig under the sofa has the girl holding her cold gun aloft. "My name is Lena Eira Snart!" She yells out in some hitch of defiance. "And I /hate/ fire." Even as she starts to sweat, her body giving in against the heat, she smirks toward the man's back. Finger pulling at the trigger, a brilliant beam shoots out and across the room, directed toward Loki himself.

*

Loki smiles to himself facing the othe way as the beams shoot around the room and even through him he remains quiet till her outburst is done, "Ah there is where you hid it under the couch… Very good thank you." and turns walking to a different part of the room. "Do you not think I would know about the gun?" he asks as he walks to the TV, and surrounds it with a green bubble as it turns into the couch, and the house goes back to normal though everything shifts a bit back to normal the couch she loked under gone.

He glances inside the bubble, "I could make so much more out of just this tech if I were to take it." he glances at her, "Though ice guns are not my thing." he adds with a grin, turning to face her he asks again.. "Are you going to do the job now?"

*

"Sure you could, if you knew what the hell you were doing with it. Can't even steal a rock much less understand what I put into that thing. You'd need my skills AND my mind." She snaps, her hands down and turning into fists by her sides. "No! And you know why? Because you're just another asshole thinking he can walk all over everyone whenever he wants. Fuck you, and fuck your plans. I will /not/ be toyed with or talked down to."

*

Loki turns and looks at her.. "That is a mistake." he adds with a smile, the room going back to a mixed up room it looks like hers, but everything is different with no door out, and the gun and the ball it is in now gone. He turns and walks away the whole place turning into a firey inferno again a he leans against the wall. "Fuck me huh? Girl you have no idea what you are dealing with… I could snap you like a twig, and here I am still offering payment for a job as you have the skills." he takes a step closer to her turning the flames up around them.

"I am willing to work with those who are assets, but to those who get in my way.." he smiles fading leaving her in the burning firey appartment, "Those who get in my way burn away to nothing." his voice floats though it seems he is still there somewhere. He was done playing nice with her, and so this time watched in amusment to see what this one would do as the flames start approaching. "No trick this time… only fire."

*

"You just don't take 'no' for an answer, do you? That deserpate, huh? You need me and what I can do that badly?" Looking him over, she keeps her icy eyes on his expression, even as he continues to shift the world around her. By now, it was sickening, twisting her belly into knots.

A kiss of frost passes her lips as the heat was starting to lick closer against her form. Jaw tight, teeth gritting, a hush of ice crackles against her pale flesh. Were it fire, it would start to melt, but something inside of her was trying, hard, to keep her safe. "Only fire," she repeats. "Then I burn." She decides.

*

As the flams lap around them Loki smiles though invisable maybe it just shows in his voice. "No.. You have done this, you talked yourself into this situation Mortal.. I don't need you, I could get a few people nor do I care about this bauble that much." he appears right infront of you looking right at you when he speaks he sounds just like you. "This is the face that doomed you.. A lot was setup for this meeting that you know nothing about." she shakes her head looking to the side. "I have come down from on high to talk to you face to face.. Treat you differently then the rest with offering to pay you other then just force it. Give you the information so you would know all about it before you moved in without lies."

She turns puting her hands up in the air as embers are now starting to fall… "What must one do to work with these infuriating mortals!" talking to himself now, or well herself. "I should of known better then to try it their way.. just can't work with them!"

*

"You did this." She hisses. "You talk down to me and expect me to do your bidding. Fill your request, do what /you/ want. You want to know how to work with us? How to get someone like me to do as you ask? You talk to us, not talk down to us." Her body shudders as the embers start to fade, that crystal pattern forming across her flesh fading. "You're not treating me any differently than some stuck up cunt trying to push people like me around." Swallowing, she sighs and shakes her head, seeming now to be…tired. "You treat me with respect, you get it back. Simple, really. Idiotic that someone like yourself wouldn't understand that."

*

Loki turns, and looks at her.. "What are you talking about mortal you have had some stick up your rear since I got here? Not to mention you are a mortal you live you die… Be around for a hundred years then maybe we will talk." he waves her off at that. "I offered you drinks last time even kept it civil, and now I showed you the very scene from the confort of you own house, heck I even left you kitchen as normal as it is alone so your mortal mind could have a safe place to return to."

Looking around he looks up at the flames again as he shakes his head, "No mortal you do not get to act high and mighty in this situation. I have done a great number of things for you and you just spit in my face each time. I am begining the think the abnormal one is you. Even now you refuse for no reason, not even suggesting maybe to get paid again.. I find it odd."

*

"I told you not to mess with my mind. You continue to do so. I told you not to belittle me. You continue to do so. Get out and leave me alone." She murmurs, her body starting to fold on itself, knees together as she inches toward the window and the fire-escape. "I need to get out of here. Please just leave me alone."

*

Loki looks at you, crawling "I called you what you were a thief, and a mortal.. Are you not both.. Do you not smell whatever that is?" he then stops and looks around at this situation. He shakes his head, "You know what mortal… You are right this is silly." he turns off all the illusions, and she is crawling in her own room. The gun is still in a ball with the couch just floating in the air, though that is quickly set down again.. "You do not want to get money, or information after all this effort." he stands by the couch.

He glances around there is nothing damaged, burnt, maybe a couple things knocked down at worst. "I thought you might be worth this effort, but it seems you are not." he does just that he turns to leave out the door like a normal person. "Could of had a few things for you to steal, but you are so stubbern that doesn't even matter does it." he laughs to himself, "I guess you can't offer someone something when they don't even know what they want.." and goes to open the door to leave.

*

"You meet someone, in person or by contact. You tell them. 'I have a job', they say 'Great, what is it'. Boom…hired. Job done." She offers, laying on the floor still and gazing out at nothing at all. "You want a thief, I'm the best. Not even the best works for assholes. Have to keep some sliver of pride, after all." Pushing herself up, she sighs and moves to gather up her gun. "My name is Lena. As long as you call me mortal, I'll never work for you. I don't need the score if you're involved. I can get my own. I don't want anything you're offering." Looking his way, she scoffs. "Respect, you idiot 'god'. Now who's not listening?" Gun up, she starts heading down the hall toward her bedroom.

*

Loki glances at her again one last time, and gives her a smile. "Oh I will remember you said that.. You can get your own." and laughs to himself as he leaves. Oh he would not forget her, and would keep an eye out for next time she went to steal something. He was beyond now getting her to steal one thing no she had upset Loki, and he could of just killed her though he had something much… much worse planned. For now he just whistles to himself as he walks away, then stops.

With a chuckle he snaps his fingers, and a large neon sign that say her name is now above the house she is in, sure it was petty, but Loki got a kick out of it. No death will not come to this one, only misfortune as he hatched a new plan for when she did pull of that next 'job'.
