Fade In…

Diana Prince is out on a leisurely walk today. As odd as it may seem she recently became a pet owner and it happened only because the little dog ended up on the Embassy's back doorstep somehow with no apparent owner in sight or having stepped forward to claim the animal. A little brown haired dauchsund that has been renamed June Bug. Diana and the little dog are out today in a park, walking and enjoying the afternoon. Though she's wearing sunglasses and her dark hair is tied back, she's still the tall and cutting figure that most people know her as today and thusly she is still rather recognizeable, even in civilian clothing.

Diana and the little Bug take a moment to relax and rest at a park bench. She reaches up to raise her sunglasses ontop of her forehead and then lifts the little dog up onto the park bench, who races back and forth on the bench quite excitedly, its drooping ears flapping around in the afternoon breezes of late summer.

Billy Batson, the mortal from of the recently named Champion of Earth by the Wizard (and isn't THAT a mouthful to say), is also enjoying a little walk in the park. His red hoodie is pulled over his head with his hands shoved into the front pockets as he walks along the path. The yapping dog catches his attention first, before seeing the woman who obstentiably 'owns' it (although it might be more that the dog 'adopted' her), and says, "Holy moley! Aren't you Wonder Woman!" There a long second before he then says, "Can I pet your dog?" afterwards.

Diana's got her phone in her hand, since she's the type of woman who will get an endless stream of messages, when the voice is heard and she looks up from it and then instantly lowers it and stuff its away into a pocket on her dark red slacks. "Hello there." She says to Billy with a friendly smile, extending her hand toward him. "I am… Diana Prince, point in fact, though yes… that name is also quite often used." She lets a sly grin show upon he rlips. Meanwhile, June Bug has come over to stare right at Billy, with its big ears perked up, but still floppy at the sides of its little face.

"And you certainly may pet her, her name is June." Which is when the dog first appeared at the Embassy, on the evening of the last day of June.

Billy carefully removes a hand from his pocket and lets June sniff at it before he starts to scratch the dog's head and ears lightly, "What a good girl…" He smiles then and looks up, "Oh I'm sorry, Ms. Prince then, I never thought you'd be out here in the park, I've only ever seen you taking on the enemies of the Justice League." Whether he means in person or on television is unclear.

Diana watches the young man pet the dog who seems to take it with great enjoyment as the little dauchsund's eyes close shut and her nose tips upward throughout the pettings! Diana just smiles then and she looks back up to Billy's face. "Well then." She starts. "You should research more about me that is not simply the stuff shown on the evening newscasts." She tells him in her thickly accented English. A motion toward the street to the west. "The Embassy of my people is just down there. And…" She then motions across the park to a large building. "And that is the entrance to the Themysciran Arts Center were visitors can immerse themselves in the culture of my people." She looks back to Billy then and shows him a grin. "So you have found a location that I am very likely to be, as it is the center of my little world here in Manhattan."

He glances over at the Thymascian Embassy and then shudders and mutters quietly, "Uh… The Wizard was kinda adamant that I don't… enter there… something about Lord Zeus forbidding it…" He then blinks at what he just blurted out and winces . o O ( Great job Billy, only a few days on the job and already you're letting out your secret )

Diana's dark brows rise up over her blue eyes as she levels her gaze upon that of the young man in front of her. "The Wizard?" She asks him then. There are a lot of people in this world who would title themselves with such, so it is not entirely easy for her to just assume who he must mean. The little dog beside her barks once, but is just wagging its tail as it foot-dances nervously on the park bench beside the Princess. "I know of no 'Wizards' who would have any ill will or standing with Zeus." She tells him further. "But either way, I am not going to force anyone to the Embassy who has no reason or desire to be there."

Billy Batson coughs then, "Uh, the Wizard Shazam, he… uh, made me the Champion of Earth. And it's not him that has an issue with Lord Zeus, it's… complicated… The gods give me my powers and my predecessor… well he sorta abused them and caused trouble for your people in ancient times and so, I'm not welcome in any place where Thymascira is, which the Embassy is a part of." He shrugs a bit helplessly.

Diana continues to stare on toward the young man's face as she hears him offer some explanation unto it all. "I see." She says then and there after he's given it. "Well, you are right about that. The Embassy is considered Themysciran land. However…" She tilts her head to the side to the young man. "If you were truly given these powers, then… what is it that you plan to do with them?" She asks him now, does she believe him or not? One can't really be sure, but she's staring at him with all of her attention… however, she could just be a very good listener and humor-er of the crazy? "What is it that you plan to do with the powers of this… Shazam?"

Billy continues to pet June for a long moment before he says, "Protect the world from the Seven Deadly Enemies of Man, and try to make it a better place…" He looks up at Diana, "At least, as much as I can, I mean I barely even know HOW to use the power." He shrugs as he continues to pet June, "The Wizard faded away before he could tell me much."

Diana glances to the dog on her left who is paying close attention to Billy as the young man pays it close attention, it seems very appreciative. The Princess' blue gaze looks back to Billy then and she releases a light sigh. "That, is trubling to hear." She tells him in her smokey voice that sounds quite displeased by the revelation of this wizard. "What, precisely, did he tell you?" She has to ask then. "And if you would like, I can look into finding others who might have more information for you. I have a great many contacts in this world, you know. Someone who will likely know what it is you need to be told."

Billy looks up and says, "Basically that I was chosen to be the Champion of Magic and that I had to say his name…" Here he steps back from the puppy and Diana and glances around to make sure the park is mostly empty and says seriously, "SHAZAM!"

A bolt of magical lightning crashes down on Billy from the sky and turns him into his hero form. He then says, "And that using the powers of the gods that I was to protect the world from the Seven Deadly Enemies of Man and my predecessor, the one known as Black Adam."

When the bolt is cast June Bug hops on the bench up into Diana's lap and starts to bark and howl. The Princess' hands come up and cup over the dog's ears, holding either sides of the dog's head lightly to calm it down some before she sees what Billy has transformed into. "My word." Diana says in response to the display of it all.

"Well… clearly you are not just a young man who has been reading too many comic books." She says with a sly grin that comes and goes rather quickly. The dog seems to be a bit calmer now in the Amazon's hands, but its still staring right at Billy/Shazam.

"I know a man, by the name of Doctor Strange." Diana starts. "He is a powerful Sorcerer, and deals in all manner of magic. If you truly are looking for answers and more assistance, he might be a good source to seek it all from."

Billy, now tall enough to look down at Diana, nods and then kneels down and offers his hand once more to June to sniff and says, "I'm still Billy, see? That's a good girl…" He tries to encourage the pup a bit. He nods to Diana and says, "Then I'll try and seek him out, I've also heard that John Constantine is someone else to look for, should I?" He asks, sounding immature despite the deeper voice and idealized adult version of himself.

Diana lets June walk to the edge of her knees to meet with Billy as he kneels down again in this new form and the dog does indeed smell the now much different looking man's offered fingers. "I have… heard of John, but I have never met him. So I cannot vouch for him in the same way that I can for Doctor Strange. I wish that I could say that his name was not as off-putting at the man himself, but he has his moments of fitting the name quite perfectly." She then shows a quick smile. "He is a good man though, his heart is generally in the right place and he does a lot to protect this world and keep it safe. If these are the ideals you are hoping to have also?" Diana nods once. "Then I hope yuu do get to meet with him. You will just have to leave a way to contact you with me before you… lightning bolt off." And now she's grinning a little.

Billy shrugs and smiles, "I have a blog on WHIZ media, and I am also a radio reporter for them." He pets June gently again and then holds out his free hand, makes a gesture and a card appears, "Here's my card, it's got my cell number, my email and can cook french fries 30 different ways!" He grins, "Well, maybe not the last, but it's cool to say…" He winks at Diana as he hands her it.

Diana watches as June tries to intercept the card because the little dog has started to develope that 'guardianship' over anything thats being given toward its owner. But Diana plucks it from Billy's hand before it can do so. She also lightly laughs at the Wizard's words, clearly entertained by them. "Well… Whiz Media and a magic trick. You are the real deal, Mister Batson." She says, glancing at the card then for a moment before she covers it over in her lap with her fingers. "I will see about setting you up with an appointment with Doctor Strange… and if that does not work out?" She tilts her head. "Perhaps we will meet this Constantine together soon?"

He floats up and smiles, "Sounds good Ms. Prince, I'll see you around, later!" With that, he flies off into the sky in the direction of Brooklyn.
