Scandalous Bats Part I

May 06, 2018:

Batwoman was trailing a truck of stolen goods, but Scandal Savage has other plans.

Gotham City Chinatown

The Vincefinkle Bridge leads in to Chinatown from here one can find themselves in direct route along Gate Street towards the beautiful highly cultural China Basin, Gotham's predominant location for all things Oriental, home of the Vauxhall Concert Center, Kyoto Twers and the Asian Markets.

Further northbound the highly diverse Upper West HIll lies, a location known for it's upper class directly mixed with it's lower. Parts of Upper West Hill are beautiful, majestic, new mingled gorgeously with the old while as others like Battergate have fallen in to ruin and poverty.

Fade In…

Electronics theft isn't necessarily a big crime for Batwoman to handle, really. But, well, when it's Kane Industries tech that goes missing, that got Kate's attention… and thus she turned her eye towards it. Eventually, after a few weeks, she got a lucky break, as a crate of electronics parts that was tagged with a tracer was stolen. So, right now, Batwoman is using her glider to trail silently after the truck with the stolen parts. She mutters under her breath in her comlink, "Alright… so far so good, they haven't bothered looking up yet, and hopefully we can track them back to their base of operations."

What could /possibly/ go wrong?

*

Nothing, that's what. At least for the first few miles of the drive. There's not a problem at all right up until they turn a corner and there's a woman standing on the side of the road in a half mask that covers her face and most of her head from just under her eyes down. She also appears to have two bracers of some kind on. It wouldn't be too strange a thing in Gotham as far as it goes except when the truck drives past her it hits something and a loud boom follows. The explosion isn't big enough to take out the whole truck, instead the right side of the truck lifts slightly off the ground and then it swerves right into a lamp post.

Then the woman starts stalking toward the truck even as people start to scramble out of it.

*

Batwoman blinks, speaking into her com, "Damn. Alright sir, sending you a video feed from the cowl now. Let me know if we have anything on her. Truck just got disabled, so might as well kill the subtlety." With that, she cuts the glider loose, letting it operate on remote control as she spreads her cape, the material going rigid so she glides down easily towards the truck. She wasn't too close, so it'll take a little bit for her to get there, as she keeps her gaze on both the other woman and the mooks getting out of the truck.

*

The first guy out of the truck is disoriented. Frankly they all are. He is slowly getting up when his head slams into the door he just got out of. She didn't even give him a moment to breath as she palmed his head into that door before she lets him drop to the ground and then moves around to the other side. A man is realizing this wasn't a simple accident and pulls a gun. He pulls the trigger and misses the woman by a hair and then screams out as for his trouble he gets some kind of long blade driven right through his foot and into the ground before the blade retracts.

She then grabs him up by the shirt and throws him toward the others causing them to step back, "Who here is in charge? Speak up…" She sends a pair of slicing blades out of both strange bracers and eyes the group.

*

And that's precisely when Batwoman descends from the sky, rolling to a landing on top of the overturned truck. Rising from her crouch, she glares down at the gathered men and says in a low, feminine growl, "WHO'S IN CHARGE HERE?" She doesn't react to Scandal just yet, maybe letting them think the two of them are together… or just seeing what her reaction is going to be first.

*

Looking up at Batwoman, Scandal rolls her eyes and sighs out through her mask before she looks at the men. She looks back up at Batwoman before saying, "I got this, Batgirl." She then starts forward as the men look between the two. At this point, there's 4 guys left and they aren't as stunned as they were. One guy, possibly the one in charge points at Batwoman then at Scandal and then back before just sputtering out, "Shoot them!" And then the guy's open fire.

It's unclear if Scandal has a vest or if she's just insane but there had to have been a bullet going right into her gut before she got to the first guy, took his legs out from under him and then brutally took his trigger finger in the same movement. The man screamed out in pain even as she turned to kick the guy who cried out for them to be shot in the face.

*

Batwoman snarls, "That's Bat/Woman/!" And she's instantly leaping into the fray, kicking one mook in the head to send him to the ground, even as another one draws a bead on her and shoots… only to hear the bullet go *ping* as Batwoman straightens up, and just grins at the shooter, "You'll have to do better than that." And then she charges him, content to just punch him out before he can react and shoot again.

Once the mooks are down, Batwoman glares over at Scandal, "First, thanks for ruining my evening. Second… are you hurt? You're not wearing armor. Unless it's exceptionally stylish." She loses the growl, her voice becoming more 'normal' and less 'Bat' as she regards Scandal, her irritation at the evening being ruined warring with curiosity about this unfamiliar face.

*

"I'm fine." She states as she walks over to the man she downed with a kick, "Bat/woman/." She shakes her head and then grabs the man up by the shirt. She slaps his face a couple of times, "Come on sleepy head, I didn't kick you that hard. I can do worse." She has retracted the blades and if Batwoman looks, the exposed skin of her belly is definitely bloody on the right side of her stomach though she doesn't appear to be bleeding badly. Perhaps it was a graze?

*

Batwoman narrows her eyes a bit, letting that slide as she switches back to the 'growl', "I'd suggest telling the lady what she wants to know. NOW." She definitely has a fairly scary snarl at the end, glaring at the mook that Scandal has a grip on.

The mook, for his part, looks utterly terrified between one woman with blades who ignores bullets, and one of the Bats snarling at him. He stammers and says, "Alright! Not getting paid enough for this! Whatya wanna know?!?"

*

A chuckle and she looks up at Batwoman before she looks down, "I want to know who is in charge of you." She states and then idly looks at her braceer on her right hand and then she sends a blade out and slams it partially into the asphalt right beside the man's head, "I wish to know who is in charge of your operation so I might speak to them directly." SHe then nods her head, "Then you can run along."

*

Batwoman doesn't say anything, letting the mook do the talking as he says, "Johnny Nine-Toes! He's the one running the shipments! We were taking this truck to him at the docks, a warehouse is there! Just don't hurt me please oh GOD!" He starts crying a little bit at that.

Batwoman does, however, subvocalize a signal for the GCPD to be contacted, so they'd be en route to clean up this mess. While Scandal is willing (possibly) to let them go, Batwoman didn't make that promise.

*

"Aww, see that wasn't so hard. I see you enjoy life." She nods her head and then on one nod slams it down with a snapping headbutt before standing up. The man's nose is broken and he is out like a light. She stands up and then shrugs, "So, what were you doing here?" She asks of Batwoman as she idly slides the blades away into the bracer. The thing looks just like some thick bracer without hte blades out. She idly starts walking away from the carnage, "This isn't really any of your business."

*

Batwoman looks at Scandal, "Actually, it is. I was tracking the electronics theft to try and get their supplier. But then someone decided to blow up the truck and cut out the middleman." She smiles faintly, "While I like the style, I was going for the more subtle approach. And now I have the name of the next link on the chain, and his location." She pauses, "Cops are going to be here soon. Need an exit?"

*

A look at Batwoman and then she rolls her eyes, "We at least are on the same path." She then sighs, "And calling the cops seems hardly necessary. They'd have investigated eventually." She then looks at Batwoman, "Now as for an exit, I don't necessarily need one but what did you have in mind?" She hmms.

*

Batwoman actually laughs softly, "Even Gotham City police respond fairly quickly to a truck explosion." She hmms, "As far as transportation goes…"

Which is when there's the audible revving of a motorcycle driving up. The stylized Bat-shape of the motorcycle is fairly distinct, not to mention the fact it doesn't have a driver right now. Then the motorcycle comes to a stop near Batwoman, who hops onto the bike with a fluid motion, giving Scandal a wry grin, "Care to hop on?"

*

A roll of her eyes, "Ya think?" She then looks at the motorcycle rolling up and stares at it. She walks up to it and chuckles, "Almost as nice as mine." She nods her head and then grins as she slides on to the bike behind Batwoman before saying, "Trust me behind you?" She asks and then shakes her head, "I thought you bat crowd were far less trusting."

*

Batwoman hmms, "I trust that you're not going to backstab me until we get to the warehouse in question. Be a damn shame if you did though, love that outfit." She grins and revs the engine, then the two of them start rocketing off to the waterfront.
