Fade In…

It was now several hours since the failed attempt to get information out of Scott summers. And well, Monet had said she enjoyed clubbing more, so Lorna had had to make up for it with several hours. Booze, a private party above the club, a private DJ.. and several lightshows later it was now time to head back home to the palace.

It had just rained outside, and the pavement smelled of damp, as humidity rose into the air around them. Genosha was tropical after all, and its weather was constantly hot and humid.

The green haired Princess was mostly drunk, leaning on one of the Cuckoos as as stablizer as she left the private exit of the club and staggered slightly in her high heels. A miserable noise escaping her as she looked up at the over cast night sky. "There are no stars… that sucks."

*

Monet heads out to The Sound Stages.

*

"Stars?" One of the Cuckoos asks. A second arches a brow. A third looks up and takes a deep breath.

"Check again, Princess," the third murmurs softly. "Looks like a clear sky." It's a small telepathic trick, nothing dangerous. But it might be enough to make Lorna smile.

The quintuplet of black clad young blondes are spread out throughout the area, three with Lorna, two on the flansk surveying the scene. In general, passersby don't notice the women at all. They were never here. Even if they do it would be hard to see all five.

After the clubbing they'd changed clothes. The dresses would be brought up by one of Lorna's servants. Perks of working for a princess.

*

It had been one wild ride since Marcos managed to dodge the entirety of SHIELD and even make contact with the human resistance Cell. No wonder he was one of the best that SHIELD had…makes his role as personal guard to Lorna all the more meaningful. But alas…Marcos had been bedridden. He -needed- to convince Lorna of the truth. He had tailed her all the way to the party, watching from a distance…until his moment came.

She was drunk off her ass, but Eclipse was still going to try. He actually snuck into her room, with his tracker chip removed, nobody could follow him…his presence there completely unknown. He sat against one of the walls, just taking a breath and checking times…knowing when the guard rotated, but in Lorna's chambers? That shouldn't be ap roblem.

He's only worried that Quicksilver or someone is gona zoom in and knock him off his feet.

She was drunk off her ass, but Eclipse was still going to try. He actually snuck behind her car, with his tracker chip removed, nobody could follow him…his presence there completely unknown.

He's only worried that Quicksilver or someone is gonna somehow find him and knock him right off his ass or something like that. Let's just hope that Lorna doesn't have a personal army with her at all times….

A sigh, and a grumble, and Lorna in her clubbing outfit sagged against the blonde, lifting her gaze upwards to the sky once more and … yep, there was the faint smile that tugged at her lips. Stars. They were so beautiful in Genosha. She yawned, stifling it behind her hand as she continued to walk toward the car. Her hand lifting as all the doors on this side of the limo opened instead of just the passenger side.

A sign for just how truly into her cups Lorna was. She certainly didn't notice one former lover and Captain of her SHIELD escort sneaking anywhere. She barely noticed that there were bumps or cracks in the pavement for her to trip over. Or not trip over as it were.

*

"It's okay, Princess. Let's get you into the car." The blone on Lorna's left helps the woman past one of those dastardly cracks in the road, moving her toward the doors to the car. The other two women move ot the far side of the car and climb inside, buckling themselves in. No one looks up at the moment. The night has been peaceful so far.

"…That's funny," one of the Cuckoos murmurs as she looks out at the city street.

"What's that, Sophie?" the other two ask in unison.

"I could have sworn I felt something… Nevermind." The one designated 'Sophie' by her sisters shakes her head slowly.

To most onlookers Lorna stumbles into the vehicle alone aside frome the driver. It's a cool night and not many people are out save for those departing the club.

*

Marcos came around the corner then, just looking like your average guy just walkin' about…then he turns around instantly, looking directly at Lorna as he lifted up a hand, his hand wreathed in golden light as if he was prepared to blind them if need be to get away. "Lorna." he says then, looking at the Cuckoos. He's heard of them only in hushed whispers…but he never thought they existed.

Damn ninja twins.

Either way, he takes a breath. "You need to listen to me, Lorna. Okay? you need to listen to me."

*

Lorna blinked repeatedly, turning her gaze to the car as she leaned against it. Her eyes slipping shut for a moment as she contemplated how much it was a very bad idea that she got this drunk a few nights before her father's celebratory gala. Still, she'd been careful. No one would see and no one would have pictures. Nasty papa—

She glanced toward the blondes as they helped her into the car and trailed off. "What's funny? Huh?"

Of course, then was Marcos. She knew him, why wasn't he with her? She missed him. Drunk logic is best logic. Of course as he continued onwards, she frowned, brows furrowing as she leaned back toward the opening of the limo. What was he going on about again? She blinked away from the light in his palm, squinting faintly.

"Marcos.. you.. no.. you went.. AWOL.. what.." She slurred, having a hard time following.

*

"Lorna, get down!" Sophie shouts and moves to cover Lorna with her own body as she presses her into the car and moves to shut the door. Of course, Lorna is leaning out of the car, which doesn't make things easy on that front.

"Who are you?" one of the other CUckoos asks, moving to unbuckle herself from the backseat. "You need to get away from the Princess. Now." Naturally, three sets of azure eyes are on those glowing hands like they're deadly weapons.

It's a pretty safe bet.

Two more young women, identical to the first three, step out from buildings to the left and right. They move to flank Marcos. "Drop your hands. Now!" The shout carries with it the force of a small psychic blast. A headache, disorientation- like being slapped hard in the face. A warning.

*

Marcos lifted both hands then, both of them wreathed in PHotokinetic heat, literally looking like his arms were bathed in light. Because in a way, he -was- light. That said, when he experiences that warning shot, he winces -hard- but he looks around then. "I'm not here to fight…but Lorna needs to know..that this world is a lie. It's all a giant fake." he says then, looking directly at Lorna, past Sophie as he prepares for a fight though.

He looks to all of them. "I am Captain Marcos Diaz, Agent of SHIELD and personal honor guard of Princess Lorna." he says then, revealing himself. "I felt the telepathy…read my mind and tell me I'm lying." he dares the Cuckoos.

He had a willpower though…and likely wouldn't go down easy to telepathic assualt. But GOD it would hurt like a bitch.

*

Lorna flopped back into the limo hard as Sophie pressed her down and covered her protectively. An oof of air escaped her and she was stunned for a moment in surprise and drunken confusion. Of course, then she realized it was Sophie above her and she wiggled to try to see around the blonde she was protectively pinned under. Another squint followed as she saw Marcos light up vaguely from her positon. (or at least saw the lightshow. Certainly if they were in any place besides outside of a club, others would come look too).

She reached up a hand to pat the blonde, squeezing her eyes shut briefly as the world spun dangerously.
%R "Can I sit up now? Please? I'm dizzy.." She whined.

*

"No. No, you can't sit up," Sophie replies shortly. Of all the Cuckoos she's the least likely to bow to a royal request. Blue eyes glance back at Marcos past a wreath of blonde hair and Sophie bites her bottom lip.

The other four encircle Marcos carefully. One steps forward first and takes a deep breath. Then they speak as one. "Okay, Marcos. Let's take a look. Why are you really here?"

All of the women are staring. It's probably disorienting, having someone tear into your deep thoughts like that. They're at least careful not to cause any damage while they rummage around. But secrets or personal details? They might be interesting.

After a second Sophie slowly lets Lorna sit up. "He isn't here to hurt you," she relates slowly. "Be careful?"

*

Marcos watched the Cuckoos as they agree to his terms, though when they look through his mind, he winces at how aggressive they were in their probing, but when they finally stop, he takes a breath, and he lowers his hands. Powers dissipating to leave his limbs completely washed of light. He approaches Lorna, but remains at a respectful distance.

In terms of secrets and personal details? Well, he was Lorna's lover for a long time, and in a way he still is. Stil madly in love with her…but they also would have seen memories of another world. In that world, they were going to be married, already with a child on the way that they named aurora. Something that would not have even been close to known or possible. But they experience it just as he does if they dig long enough…memories of two worlds…which means…

"Lorna…please listen to me."

*

Lorna huffed but didn't fight against Sophie's rejection of letting her sit up at first, and drunkenly remained where she was. Green eyes shut and she exhaled until Sophie finally got up and let her up as well. A wobble, and the Princess was sitting up on the floor of the limo, looking out at Marcos as the blondes rummaged through his head.

Still, as she peered out and spotted Marcos, just Marcos.. no light show or anything else she grimaced and backed up, shaking her head.

"It's the same, isn't it? The same as you said before, and you need help Marcos. I say that because I care.. but you need help.." She mumbled, reaching up to pinch the bridge of her nose. She was way too drunk for this.

*

"I…" Sophie hesitates for a second. She looks toward her sisters.

"We took a look, Lorna," all five begin at once. "He - believes everything he's saying. And we didn't find any sign of mental illness…" All of the Cuckoos are gathering around the car, Lorna, and Marcos now. They watch quietly, hands behind their back, poised to strike if something goes horribly wrong.

"Some of the things he thinks he knows are - insane," one adds slowly.

"But…"

*

Eclipse looks between the Cuckoos as they further harden and solidify his points, he looks between all ofthem. "I know…I know..I know it sounds crazy. But it's too real…Too real to be fake." he looks at Lorna then. "Lorna, in this world…we were going to be married…and we were gona name our little baby girl Aurora. We've traveled the world togetehr. You got me out of a dangerous decision with my life…and I've walked by your side ever since then. You have to remember, Lorna. This world is a lie."

He was pleading with her to remember, the memories of everything going through his head like he's relieved it all a thousand times. The Cuckoos could probably back him on that too if they wished it.

He looks at her then. "How can I prove this to you?" he asks then, moving to Lorna and kneeling righti n front of her, but keeping a distance that the Cuckoos could strike if they need to and Lorna wouldn't be in the way.

*

Lorna shifted, her brows furrowing as she glanced between the Cuckoos around the limo's entrance, to Sophie and then back to Marcos. She stared, her head pounding from drink and struggling to wrap her mind around everything that the Cuckoos were claiming.. that he believed to be true. She shook her head, pushing herself up and then nearly smashing her head on the ceiling of the limo.

She cursed, pressing her hand to the top of her head as she hissed slightly.

"No, no.. there's no way. I met you a few years ago at a parade when there was a bombing. You saved my life. We had a good thing Marcos.. but I can't be with you like that. I can never be with you like that. My position comes with certain obligations.. and that means an arranged marriage. I'm sorry.." She glanced toward the Cuckoos, plopping down in the seat of the limo, pressing her hands over her features as she inhaled a struggling breath.

"I'm sorry. I can't think of how you can possibly prove the existence of some other reality.."

*

The Cuckoos exchange glances. A couple deep breaths are taken and then slowly exhaled. "Lorna… Maybe you should actually see this." The girls are looking between one another as they consider this. "In his mind the world just - starts. All at once. And…" They all take a deep breath.

The Cuckoos speak in unison, almost like a chant but too perfectly in sync. "And the other world he's talking about is-"

That's when the mindlink between the seven of them begins.

*

Marcos looked at Lorna. "It's true, Lorna….It is. Please..please believe me. I can't go on without you." he says then, looking at her with the love that couldn't be conquered or betrayed in the stars fell. Alas, it's only when the Cuckoos start to mind link all of them, with Marcos experiencing this entirely new feeling.

This is why he should probably meet at least -one- telepath…but they were dealing with five of the best telepaths ever.

That said? He just lets whatever is happening happen. No words now, just his eyes on Lorna, silently pleading for her to understand.

*

The green haired mutant looked ready to order the limo onwards and back to the palace before the Cuckoos linked their minds. It really wasn't the best idea to link the mind of someone drunk with so very many minds all at once. Never mind that Marcos was already seeing dualities of his life here and his life in that other world.

Tears sprang to Lorna's eyes as she pressed her hands against her temples, her head throbbing as images spun around her mental landscape in a dizzing arc of confusion and pain. She whimpered, clamping her eyes shut for all the good it did.

"Marcos.." She mumbled, and another pained sound escaped her as her eyes rolled up into the back of her head and she fainted straight away.
