Fade In…

Scott's quick depart from Alex's company not without a reason. Bruce Banner has a meeting with Summers today, scheduled after hearing the man was back in his… right mind. The incident that went down several weeks ago solid confirmation for Cyclops that the Hulk needed ot be with them, as Banner mainly but the Hulk, thats a creature that does need help, ring or no. The specifics of that still elude Scott and will continue to do so.

The attire Scott is presenting himself in not exactly professional, casual work out pants, a tanktop, running shoes with the X logo on them. He is waiting out front of the mansion proper itself. The overcast yet nicely temperate weather right now making for an enjoyable day at the very least. Much better than what theyd gone through before. While standing there he lifts his wrist up to touch the watch on it, thumb depressing it causes the time to display then fade out.

Jean had just let out a class early to be there for the meeting; whether Scott was expecting her or not. Stepping up towards Scott, she noted the depressing of the watch and asked, "Timing something? or someone?"

Dr. Bruce Banner arrived via uber, and has since kind of slowly explored the front yard a little bit, pausing to refer to a few messages on his mobile device, before putting it away and approaching the front foyer. He's relatively tentative, and exceptionally /nervous/, though he keeps it in a dull roar of subtle panic in the back of his mind. This is a place full of children, and being calm and reserved is of extreme importance. There are reasons he stays away from places like hospitals or areas where people can't run away if they need to.

Bruce is dressed very casually, though not quite as casually as Scott: just slacks, loose button up shirt, coat, shoulder bag. He looks exactly like a visiting professor anyone would expect on any campus, and blends in right away with the school, actually. Students probably entirely overlook him. But that's Banner's life: ignored until suddenly he's impossible to ignore!

A look up and towards Jean as she joins his side. Scott's eyes behind those shades linger on her and he smiles, just slightly, "Doctor Banner. I've been trying to get him on witht he school to fill an opening or three in the faculty."

"Good to see you out here." He offers warmly to the attractive redhead.

As soon as the Uber deposits Bruce a hand wave is given towards the man, striding towards him to extend a hand.

"Bruce, good to see you again. This is my uh… this is the acting headmistress Jean Grey."

"We could certainly use a few more faculty, hopefully he won't be too scared off by a school full of superpowered students." When Bruce got closer, Jean took a step forward along with Scott towards Bruce and smiled politely, "Nice to meet you Doctor Banner. How was your drive?"

"Good morning, Mr. Summers," Dr. Banner greets, warming up, smile appearing. He generally reads as reserved and pleasant, at first look. "You, as well. Better, ah, circumstances," Bruce says, slightly awkwardly. He'll shake hands with Scott, then offer the same to Jean. His handshake is fairly passive, no real backbone in it. "Ms. Grey, hello. I had a quick drive, avoided a clump of traffic. Some of these uber drivers are impressive," Bruce smiles.

"Circumstances. Right." Scott manages quietly. The hand shake retracted as he turns and starts to walk, a casual carry on with the expectance they'll wander while they have a conversation.

"There is very little the core members of our faculty here don't discuss, including what went down in Mutant Town with our last meeting. The more we know the more we are prepared."

"Jean is safe to speak openly to, shes one of the best people in the world on such matters actually."

"Are you uhh… " Scott halts in his walk and looks at Banner, "I heard the problem in a round about manner was contained, but, you're feeling well right?" He assumes so anyways as the man did show up at a school full of children, rage beast surely in some sort of controlled state.

Jean did her best to send soothing thoughts the way of Bruce Banner, using her telepathic powers to try and provide some calm without being intrusive, "They are! I know a few students use it to make a few extra dollars, hopefully responsibly." A hand was reached out to gently brush against Scott's arm reassuringly, not speaking out loud but instead with telepathy to Scott, <Doctor Banner is just fine. He has more self-control then most of us put together.>

A red flush of embarrassment flames into extreme obvious presence on Dr. Banner's face. He distracts himself some by pulling his eyeglasses off and cleaning them with the edge of his shirt. Diving right into the meat of it all, which makes his nerves skyrocket.

"That… I was attacked. By a piece of alien technology that I still don't have a full handle on the details of, exactly, except that it hunted for me. That is, ah, the reaction to being attacked, what you saw. It's predictable. Which isn't an excuse, so much as that's how it works." Dr. Banner's jaw flexes as he clenches his teeth briefly, returning his glasses to his face, but the expression seems calm enough.

"For the most part I don't tend to get assaulted," Bruce adds, guilty in tone. Jean's subtle influence appears to take good purchase: he's not fighting it, or aware of it. "I've gone a year, in the past, with no episodes. But I have to say …it isn't stable right now. I'm being as careful as I can, but this is nowhere near something I can promise won't happen." His eyes drop.

Scott is well aware of Banner's anxiety. It has already been displayed and what can come of it potentially. Terrifying.

"I read about some of that, asked where I could. I wouldn't have invited you here though if I didn't have faith you were in control again, risks and chances are… part of what we have to consider."

"Predictable. Well, Doctor… Bruce, if I may. You're in the perfect place to find help for your problems." They're walking around the corner of the mansion out front, towards the side gardens and outside courts, not many kids, spring break and all but still some.

"You're fine here. Safe here." Scott sounds convinced, firm in his resolve. Even looks it in his stony demeanor.

"So how much do I have to try and sell you on us and being here, part of this all?" For the eyes!

"I've never seen Scott so desperate for a yes, I'm afraid if you turn him down, he'll be heartbroken." Jean joked with Bruce to lighten the mood about alien attacks, probably not a good topic to discuss with someone who was already dealing with anxiety.

Bruce laughs softly at the comment about 'selling' Bruce on it. "Honestly, it would be safer for the students if I were elsewhere and skype-called in lessons. I really /do/ like teaching, at least when I'm not buried in a project. I've taught physics before, various lab assistants and trainees." Bruce likes kids. In a sort of sad, distant way of saying so. A lost relic of his past.

"To put a more direct frame on it - if I get angry or overly agitated, that's how it happens. I'd LIKE to do some, ah, experimenting with allowing the shift, to see if I can start to learn to revert better. But that's… there's a reason I haven't tested that much. I don't want to deliberately, ah, turn, or get stuck, or."

He's rambling, and coughs, rubs the back of his neck. And looking at Jean's comment. He has to grin at her. "Sorry. Off topic. I'm willing to give this a try, so long as you know what you're possibly in for. And that sometimes it's really hard to come… back down." Such self deprecation. He's leaking pain, really. He wants to belong, but his emotions are pulling him away.

Scott gives Jean a /look/. "You've seen me desperate for a yes before." There is no joke tone for him. Humor fail on his part or he's just serious about getting Bruce in.

"You realize we have mutants here who struggle with control everyday? They lash out with so much as a sneeze. People want to stress the safety of things for the children here but honestly, there is no better place. Prepared is my thing, prepared is what we do and are here. We are ready for you and what you may bring to the table, good or bad, Doctor." Confidence very much a thing. Perhaps overly much on this front but then, who is ever fully ready for the Hulk?

"Giving it a try is all I wanted to hear. You being here already said as much though, I'm just trying to lock you in." Scott grins now, not a 'happy smiles' type of one.

"Would you like to see anywhere specific? "Scott gives Jean a look. "You've seen me desperate for a yes before." There is no joke tone for him. Humor fail on his part or he's just serious about getting Bruce in.

"I'

Jean had remained rather quiet, reading the thoughts of the two men as she walked along with them before something came up that distracted her, "I'll go grab us all something to drink and see the two of you wherever you end up. Try not to leave without saying bye, Doctor Banner."

"If I can help one child work on their own control difficulties, that would be worth a great deal, to me," Bruce says in a quiet, but honest, way. "My larger concern is chain reaction — if things regularly explode as they do in Stark tower, I don't want to make a bad situation worse." A brief little smile. The fireworks in Stark tower nearly triggering Hulk is a thing.

Bruce responds to Jean first. "Uncaffinated, please," Bruce requests, smiling to Jean. "I won't," he agrees.

But then things to see! "Do you have a standard tour? — Well, I'd like to see lab facilities, classrooms, and faculty areas," Bruce says, in a way that suggests he absolutely has worked at a university in the past.

"Black for me. We'll be around somewhere, thank you for helping me welcome Doctor Banner." Scott makes muffled noise from the back of his throat then returns his attention on Bruce, "You'll not only be helping just the children or one, our mission statement is all of mutant kind and with my plans… not just them, alone." They're walking towards that garden area around to the back, near a gondola thats not far from the covered pool.

"You are aware of the inhumans? Their numbers spiked early last year thanks to Apocalypse, we stopped him but not before he managed to awaken a sizable portion of the globe. It's opened my eyes also. The 'mutant' problem isnt just mutants, we're just the ones they can label, track, persecute. The rest of you are next, it's time we start building a platform to prepare for that and I feel like the X-Men, this School, we're the best prepared."

Scott steps up in to that pagoda and puts his back against the support, arms overlapping across his chest, "You're phase one. Part of it. I want thinkers, innovators, like yourself and by agreeing to join us… you're becoming part of my grand scheme."

"But yeah, a basic tour, I'll walk you through that, just, making sure you're aware of what sort of maniac you'll be working alongside." A geniune grin this time, Scott obviously means himself.

Dr. Banner laughs, and sighs, "Well, to some degree, I was awakened, just like those inhumans. So yes, I understand your goal here." And an amused arch of brow and somewhat reserved, careful smile shows. "The instant you ask me to start building bombs, though, I'll disappear into the wind," Bruce 'teases'. It's more of just a cautionary. "That part of my life is over. I have enough destructive potential," he says ruefully, but it's not entirely a joke. He wishes it were. "Call me Bruce, if you like," Bruce also extends.

"No bombs. We don't do bombs." Scott promises. "Most of us are living weapons as it is, my brother, for instance. A walking talking explosion just waiting to go off. We're just adverse to these things as you are."

"The only thing I want you to do is help me understand our nature, educate and help us protect, to form a better, brighter unified future. Coexist." A headshake, "I'm sure you seen the obnoxious bumper stickers."

"Bruce, call me Scott."

"I may get invasive about what your big green friend really is at some point, will ease to that point but, I'd like to understand and so would the others. We can help eachother there. At your pace though… "

A sudden dawning realization, "Hey, also, do you have a uh cousin?"

"Hardly anyone's friend," Bruce sighs a bit more heavily, "Certainly doesn't like /me/," Bruce adds, and it isn't funny. He smiled anyway, but that wasn't all that funny.

"I'd like to learn more about him too, though. Within reason of tests, naturally."

The last question draws a guilty small smile but a nod. "Yes. I know whom you mean." He's dodging, sensative subject.

"Maybe thats his problem." Scott jokes, "Doesn't like you? You make it sound like the two of you are not exactly uh… " Long fingers rise up and interlock then separate. "If you're bold, I'd be happy to subject you to Jean, the Professor or one of our other telepaths to… I dunno, have a conversation? Really I'm not sure where to begin there but I know they will know and can help."

"Yeah? I'll ask that question again later. " Not wanting to be pushy Scott lets it lie, theres a massive difference in personality from Jenn to Bruce form what hes learned so far.

"What courses do you think you can handle?" oFf key, throw a curve ball in there. "Also, we can set you up with a room here."

"He isn't much for talking. At least, I'm told." Which carries the most massive piece of information about the subject: Bruce isn't aware of Hulk, or what Hulk does. "But maybe."

"I… have a number of PHD. I'd be comfortable in a number of different courses," Bruce admits. "Anything around physics is a good fit, but I can also do biology, or related sciences." People normally focus on Hulk, but Bruce brings a large contribution on his own. "Can I see the rooms?" Curious.

"Well, several of the people here are rather good at making even the most antisocial talk. A gift… inside a gift I suppose." Scott shoves off with his foot leaving the structure and walking towards the back entry to Xavier's.

"Then there may be a number of classes I can get you in charge of."

"We could use a biology and science go to while Doctor McCoy is away. I think you'll fit great there."

A nod and they're headed inwards, towards the rooms. "Takes some getting used to but you'll find your way around in no time."

Dr. Banner simply nods to the statement about the biology and science. "That's fine. Unless there's a million classes. Ease me into it; it's been years." A chuckle. He follows to see the different spaces, looking around. Calm.
