Cobble Hill has some of the best entertainment and shopping options in town, but those aren't among the spots Catwoman is perched this night. Her path has led to Little Odessa in particular, atop a roof that overlooks one of the neighborhoods said to harbor members of the Russian Mafia.

Recent things in the East End, closer to home, have led her out this way and it's a night for surveillance, to see what (and who) is coming and going. Perhaps she can glean something from this that will be of use in combating some of the problems that have been plaguing parts of Gotham, and even if Batman's back that doesn't mean she's leaving everything to him.

From her perch, the woman lays low and fiddles with a couple enhancements in her goggles and cat's hood, the better to help her see and hear.

*

"I definitely wouldn't try to rob the Russians, they are like totes bad news. The finger breaking, leg snapping, head thumping sort of guys you know." the tone is chipper and there is totally a smile on the Charlie's face.

Misfit is sitting on a ledge nearby as she watches you watch the Russian's building. Her outfit is, batgirl knockoff. I mean the materials are hightech and sharp, not just goodwill chic. But, things are a bit askew. She has goggles instead of the usual batmask. The ears of the cowl are totally askew. Color scheme is definitely off. Also the bat is .. more a stylized M.

"Though meeting you is awesome, I mean I've read about you online and the paper and all that but this is very cool." Charlie finally stops rambling. One good question might be how she got there and the drop on you. Though well, bat themed people are known for the vanishing acts or appearances. So annoying.

*

To her credit, Catwoman shows no outward reaction to someone else suddenly there talking to her. With Batman around, one might get used to it. Check that: there is a small frown that's visible as she adjusts her positioning. Moonlight shines off the catsuit, a sleek, smooth material that seems a good fit for the colder winter weather.

"Do I look worried about that?" she asks, taking her attention away from a particularly lavish-looking residence to peer toward Misfit. "I've dealt with the mob before. I'm no inexperienced little kitten getting up to walk for the first time." Now she's propped up on her elbows, having adjusted something at the edge of the goggles.

She adds, "I'm sure I have quite the reputation around here, but you are..? And do you always just show up out of nowhere?"

*

Charlie considers that question and the other things Catwoman has said. "Well. I mean yes I do tend to just show up a lot." she tilts her head a bit to the right studying you. "I also find it annoying when the Man does it to me so I am pretty sure I must be annoying like that… huh." she pauses "Sorry." then she brightens and smiles. "My name is Misfit."

There is a wave over to the Russian owned enterprise. "Also no.. I mean.. I wouldn't assume you are a kitten.. I mean.. you're Catwoman right. Of course you know what you are doing… sorry." she offers up a grin.

*

Eyeing Misfit, Catwoman gestures with a claw-tipped hand. "What's with the Batgirl knock-off look?" Might as well get that question out of the way up front, since the inspiration looks rather obvious to her.

Then she goes back to peering in the direction of the compound. "They've been running some guns in neighborhoods I don't want them in. Anything that will disrupt that and make it harder for them to operate, I'm looking into as an option." She certainly looks and sounds like she knows what she's talking about so far, if appearances and attitude are a sign.

*

Misfit leans back a bit and taps the side of her goggles as she looks to the builing. "Gun running. Well there definitely seems to be a real upsurge in gang activity. Not sure what has them all riled up but they seem intent to start a big old fight with each other."

Then Charlie looks sidelong before looking down at herself. "Well. I thought I could be the new Batgirl when the other one stopped being around. I was pretty wrong about being Batgirl though. So I came up with my own name.. but like you know a twist on the theme. I am kind of a Misfit really so it seemed to work for me? It doesn't suck does it?"

*

"I'm sure some of them got bold when Batman was..missing," Catwoman states flatly, pushing back to more of a seated position. She's keeping one watchful eye on Misfit, just in case. You never know when one of the Bat-Brood, if that's part of her alignment, might try to do something.

She goes on. "And now he's back, he's got some new fancy tech even beyond what he used before, and I'm not sure what to make of it all yet. Did you..get into all that when he was gone, then?" She gestures, indicating the costume. "Not really my style, but you do you."

*

Misfit rolls her shoulder "Well I supplemented the gear a good bit while he was on his.. uh .. soujorn.. hiatis.. I don't know what he called it. That said no I didn't just decide to be Misfit while he was gone…. I got into it a good while ago. Not sure he approves." she looks around like she might be watched. "Not sure he approves of anything."

Charlie looks back to you know. "I think the outfit looks good. I mean. I'm pretty sure I couldn't pull off your catsuit, which is amazing by the way. Also then I would just be accused of copying you." she taps her goggles and then groans.

"Dangit.. you are.. uh.. do not engage and prepare to be lectured before … yeah. You just won me some sort of talking to." pause "Totally worth it to meet you though."

*

Catwoman laughs. "I don't know about that, but I hear I'm a bad influence on some people. Can't imagine how." Just imagine a cat licking the back of a paw, contentedly, ruler of its domain. "I know all of the Bat Brats were busy doing what they could while he was gone, and now he's got these drones everywhere. Yeah, he probably already knows you and I are here, so good luck on that later on." She's not much for the lectures, no doubt.

However, activity at the property in question seems light. It may be she picked the wrong evening to go spying, and she casts a distasteful look that way before going back to something else, rising slowly. "Oh, you like it, do you? The outfit?"

*

Misfit makes a disgruntled noise. "I am sure you are a bad influence, or at least He thinks so. I mean it isn't a call backup flag, or a send to Arkham flag. So I am sure it isn't going to be too bad a lecture or talk." she offers a hopeful smile. "Als yeah the drones are a bit much.. but I figure he knows what he is doing." she looks at the night sky.

Then her goggled gaze drifts back down to you as you rise up slowly. "Oh yeah." pause blink. "I mean you look great in it. Badass and confident."

*

Catwoman moves away from the edge of the roof, lest anyone else be looking in on them that she wouldn't want to deal with. "He likes to think he knows what he's doing. I like to stay a step ahead of him whenever I can. It makes everything so much more fun. Don't you agree?"

Rummaging around in the shoulder bag she keeps with her, she puts a couple things away. Looks like she's wrapping up the time she's spending on this rooftop. "Part of how you look is how you feel. It doesn't hurt to look good, though."

*

Misfit stretches slowly and then slips hopping up to her feet and shaking her limps a bit to loosen them up. "Wow.. maybe. I mean I can't wait for the day I can be one step ahead of him. Right now he seems to always know what I am thinking and going to do before I do it. Very disturbing."

The young woman grins though. "Well you look good. Cat theme definitely suits you. Catsuits you even." hah so funny. She smiles warmly though. "So off into the night with you?" a touch of disappointment.

*

"I wasn't planning on sticking around here all night long. This is insulated well, but it's still cold out here," Catwoman remarks, but she hasn't left just yet. Not when compliments are being paid. "Much jokes. So funny." She strides her way closer for a moment, sizing Misfit up and down. "Life's more fun when you can stay ahead of the Batman, but there are worse things to go around looking like than a cat. It's better for getting around at night, that's for sure."

*

When Catwoman strides closer Misfit cocks her head then shifts her stance. Not a fighting stance, per say, though she is definitely ready by the way she sets her footing. More she seems to be giving a much better view of her costume. It is tight, armored, leatherweave of some sort. Probably the same tech in Batman's usual suits. "Insulated is good. Is yours bulletproof?" concern tone to her voice now as she looks you over much closer. Sharp eyes flicking over your outfit now that everyone is on their feet. "I have noticed a lot of animal themes. Bats. Cats. Birds. Well and Spoiler and I.. not sure what that says about the two of us really. Maybe I should get an animal theme… what are odd nocturnal animals?"

*

Catwoman's body language does not suggest a fight about to happen, but then again you never know what a cat is going to do. It could be peaceful and chill one moment, yowling and scratching the next.

A quick inspection of the attire Misfit's got leads to a roll of the shoulders, a shrug. "Nothing is completely bulletproof, but I've got a couple things to help. As for you?" She points. "Looks like you're already going sort of 'bat' with all that, but not everyone around here dresses up like some kind of animal. Just most of us. I guess you could call it a pattern." Then a smile spreads. "You could be a mouse."

Well she watches you watching her watching you. Could go on for a while there. Then she nods "He knows I am doing this." in reference to the whole sort of a bat with all that in her outfit. "I'm kind of annoying and persistent. Pretty sure the Bat doesn't think I should be. It's too dangerous. I should give it up. Look for a normal life." she pauses "That would be super boring though. Way way too boring."

At the animal theme suggestion "Pretty sure Might Mouse or Chaos Mouse .. Misfit Mouse… hm… not sure that is.." she trails off then snrks "Okay.. cat and mouse.. walked right into that… you are bad."

*

"The smart thing to do would be anything but that," Catwoman says, nodding to the costumed appearance her counterpart sports. "But I don't know that anything around here is normal, and once you've been around all of this it's hard to just ignore it." And, yes, it'd be boring.

Then, she's giving Misfit a wink as she unfurls her whip, a crack sounding as she lashes out at a streetlight so she might swing down to where her motorcycle is parked somewhere out of sight. "Until next time, mouse."
