Fade In…

It has been a few days since Kara Zor-El arrived on Earth, and after meeting her cousin, Kal-El, she's been taken to the Fortress of Solitude. The one place that would look and feel familiar, almost as if she's not on some alien planet with alien people. It's comforting for the time being. There also mighty statues of her aunt and uncle, which is pretty awesome.

*

Power Girl's trying to check up on…well…her. It gets weird. The blonde flies out to the Fortress, entering, as she looks to check around. She enters the Fortress, and starts looking through.

*

"Other me!" Kara calls out when she walks out of a room to see Power Girl had come to visit her, "you were so right about dimensional weirdness! Kal-El is older than me! It's freaky!"

*

Power Girl smiles. "Hey there, Kara." She starts over closer. "Oh, /believe/ me, I know exactly how weird it was. It was several years ago for me, but still just as weird." She gets closer, still looking a little boggled as she looks at her younger self.

*

Kara seems to be having similar weird sensations at Power Girl's presence, essentially looking at her bigger self, and as she looks up and down over Power Girl's imposing figure, she asks, "so…am I going to look like you in a few years? How old are you, if it's okay to ask? I mean, I'm actually asking myself, not a stranger, huh?"

*

"Let me just be tactful and say "in my twenties"." Power Girl answers, amusement in her tone. "And probably? I looked just like you when I was your age. You've uh…got some puberty left to finish up." she says, blushing a bit.

*

Kara's eyes open wide, at her age, what Power Girl just said is most certainly a full fledged adult. Heck, it seems light years away, even though it's not nearly quite that far off, she's about to state her own age, until Power Girl's comments gets her cheeks flushing and her gaze drops downwards, "I'm…erm…I was about to take my trials…" the Kryptonian rights of passage, she was meant to take as an 18 year old to prove she can become a contributing member of society. She hates the fact she didn't get to complete them, making her feel a little less adult, which is made all the worse now that she found Kal-El is very much like Jor-El and Zor-El were in her young eyes.

*

"I think getting here and going through everything you're going be dealing with counts as the trials. Have you been anywhere out on Earth yet? Or have you been staying here with Kal, this time?"

*

"Kal brought me here…he gave me a human name to use," Kara murmurs, feeling a bit uncomfortable with that name as of now, "Kara Danvers…he says it would make humans accept me more easily. But no, I haven't been anywhere else, can you take me to see places on Earth? Maybe places you like?"

*

Power Girl considers that a moment. "Sure, I could do that. If you'd like to get out and about some I can show you around. Do you have any human clothing yet? We'd draw too much attention if we go out like this."

*

"Well…these are my clothes?" Kara answers sheepishly, feeling bad she didn't pack anything else, before she offers, "everything was kinda exploding, there wasn't time…Zor-El pushes me in the spacecraft against my will…"

*

Power Girl closes her eyes a moment. "I remember everything exploding." She shakes her head. "Come on, we can get started. Have your powers developed yet?" She asks, as she looks to her younger analogue.

*

"Powers? Well…yesterday I jumped, and then I couldn't touch the ground!" Kara offers with excitment, "Kal had to push me down so I can walk again, funny, huh?"

*

Power Girl nods. "Exposure to a yellow sun gives us special abilities. Come on, I'll fly us somewhere we can take a better look around at human society." she offers. "If you'd like, that is."

*

"Yes! I'd really love that actually," Kara is more than happy to hear that, she's excited to explore this alien world, it looked so different from the air alone.

*

Power Girl moves over to Kara, and says "All right. Go ahead and hold on." She puts an arm around her younger self. "Also, when we're out there, I go by the human name Karen Starr."

*

"The name Kal gave me for humans is Kara Danvers," Kara reminds bigger Kara, as she nods at her and wraps her arms around Power Girl to hold on tight. "Let's go see this world!"

*

"Yes, but either way, I can call you Kara." Power Girl smiles, and then soars off, to start New York-wards with her younger self.
