Fade In…

(OOC: first pose was overwritten, essentially Kara waiting in the secret hanger for Superman to arrive)
*

It was in that moment where Kara was in her most private time to herself with Lantern and Power Girl probably off discussing something, it sounds like a 'vooosh' comes with the wind, though it's nothing natural….instead, a particular Kryptonian responding to something that Hal described as 'something he definitely needed to see.'

Thus does he arrive in what the world would know as Superman, in his traditional kryptonian garb with the House symbol of El on his chest with that S-shield, vibrant red cape flowing with the wind as he hovers into the room in all that majesty….though when he sees Kara, his mouth kind of drops.

They were not lying.

Instead, he lands on the ground and approaches Kara, looking at the garb she wore, then back up to her face….and she would be met with the warmest of smiles.

*

Kara comes to full alert at the sound, and turns to look at the source of the sound, before spotting Superman's arrival. The outfit is familiar, as is the distinct sigil of the House of El, "by Rao!" She exclaims, shocked to find a grown man bearing the sigil of her house, "you are from the House of El? Were you able to find Kal-El?" She asks urgently, very much concerned, but otherwise returning the smile she's given, even as her brow remains furrowed.

*

Superman looks her up and down, she even said the god of the Kryptonians name…something nobody should know…unless they were from Krypton, or such was Kal's thinking…but when Kara asks him if he has seen Kal-El, his smile just grows far more bewildered and happy. "I am from teh House of El. My father was Jor-El…my name is Kal-El." he just starts to laugh like this just made his life. "I'm…I'm not alone." he says in true bewilderment, though Power Girl was from anotehr dimension, he hadn't found another Kryptonian from -here-, and thus does this really make a difference to him. He laughs and scoops up Kara and the biggest hug.

*

"Jor-El was your father!?" Kara starts wondering if she has a cousin she had never met before, until Superman reveals that he is in fact Kal-El, leaving her more than a little stunned. "No," she mumbles, her eyes going a bit bleary, "that's impossible!" She holds up her arm, pointing from palm to elbow, "Kal-El would fit right here….and you…you don't! Kal-El's just a baby!" Could it be that her other self, the older one, was correct? What kind of dimensional weirdness did she stumble into? "What do you know of your family…?" Kara asks, her voice barely audible as she's not quite sure what to do with herself. If all this is true, her mission certainly is pointless. Kal-El is not a baby, and definitely doesn't need her looking after him. But then she gets scooped into a big, affectionate hug, and all of her concerns melt right into it, as she returns Kal-El's embrace and starts to weep.

*

Heck..even Kal is tearing up a tad. But he smiles to her. "I..I crash landed in a place on this world called Smallville in the state of Kansas. I…I don't know what to say. I lived my life with human parents. But don't you worry anymore. We're family, and I promise, we'll look after each other okay?" he smiles to her, clearly something was off in her trajectory if she landed here. He keeps Kara in his arms as long as she needs to. "My father kept memory crystals aboard my ship….I know almost everything. How are home was destroyed….how my parents died so that I could live." he lowers his head in sadness. "and I thought I would always be alone." he smiles big and wide as he looks her in the eyes. "Your name…what's your name?" he asks curiously, looking like he's the happiest Kryptonian who ever walked.

*

"That other me, she said her name was Kara Zor-L, she said there was a problem with my ship's computer…maybe she was right," Kara offers, still weeping and still refusing to ease the grip of her embrace on Kal. "my father, your uncle, Jor-El sent me to protect you…I'm sorry I'm so late…everything I do is always so wrong…" she whimpers, "that was my first real mission, I gave my word I would look after you…" she does eventually calm down a bit, sniffling at the suggestion they look after each other, before nodding her head faintly, "yes, yes we will." Though truth be told, she's just a little behind on the game. "Do you have a home on this planet?" She asks curiously, an abode would be her first concern after all if she were to find her cousin, and she did, so it's only natural to progress. Even if he's not nearly as helpless as she'd expect him to be. "Kara Zor-El," she introduces herself, "like I said, Jor-El's daughter." It takes her a few moments, but eventually she does admit, "I'm so happy not to be alone, when everyone died, I thought I'll never have anyone…I mean, I wasn't sure I'll even find you. Everything was done in such a rush."

*

Kal smiles to Kara when she introduces herself "Kara." he echoes, and he hugs her again. "Don't you ever say that you can't do anything right…you did exactly what you were meant to do. Come here and look after me, much like how I'm going to look after you alright?" he says with the warmest smile, wiping any stray tears from her eyes. "I do…and if you choose, it'll be your home too here until or unless you decide otherwise…okay?" he smiles to her, offering to her his hand so he could fly her to the Fortress of Solitute. "Father told me that everything had to be done in such a hurry…we have each other. I think your pod may even have memory crystals too…father put his in mine so that he could share his memories with me, tell me of Krypton and lessons that I was able to learn…so that I always had a part of him with me." he smiles then, grabbing the pod in his other hand. "Let's go home, Kara."

*

Kara sighs a bit at hearing Kal cheer her up, it's comforting, it makes her feel much better, and in a way he is right. Even if she was much delayed, she did find him, so there's that. She gives him a bit of a squeeze, and finally eases on hugging him. "Thanks for saying that, Kal, it means a lot." She nods at his offer, "I'd love to stay with you, I think having family about now is the best thing. Plus…it's an alien planet, I have no clue where to go, I'm lucky Hal and Blue Marvel found me…they helped me hide my vessel in here."

Taking Kal's hand, she calms herself and agrees, "let's go home."

*

Kal smiles, and with that, he starts to take to the sky as he floats a little off the ground and goes higher and higher, eventually holding Kara with him. "The radiation of the sun will give you incredible powers. In time, you will know them as I have." he smiles to her, flying straight to the arctic with her in one hand and her pod in the other. "I will thank them both in depth, for they are good friends of mine. and I think you and Power Girl will get along very well." he smiles warmly then as they make way to the Fortress of Solitutde.

*

Kara clings to dear life as Kal simply flies into the air with her in his arm, "eeek!" She shrieks unexpectedly at first, before calming down, and now admiring the view instead, "wait…you mean I'll be able to fly too!?" Her voice spills over with exuberance, it's like a dream come true, she will be able to do what the amazing people who came to greet her can do! "Does everyone on this planet have powers?"

*

Kal laughs a bit, moving her in his arm so that he's more half hugging her, and as she admires the view, his smile only grows wider. "That's right Kara. While not everyone on the planet has powers, there are many here who don't have powers or special abilities, but many of them are good as well." he smiles to her warmly. It felt great to not be alone…and then they are upon the Fortress of Solitude. "I call this place the Fortress of Solitude…it's very much so a secret to the world, and only my most trusted friends know about it. But you…your family. My home, is your home." he smiles to her as he opens the -massive- front doors to reveal the inside, which has many relics and artifacts of Kryptonian origins, even a symbol of the House of El on the far back wall. "I have quite a few guest rooms, though you can easily make it yours however you see fit." he smiles warmly.

*

"That's good to know, are there castes on this planet as well, just like home?" She asks curiously, the natural follow up would be what caste has Kal-El been accepted to. "That's a sad name…" Kara notes, "why did you choose that name?" But then he explains the level of secrecy he keeps about the place, and she seems to get it, "oh, that's why? I see…well, at least now you'll have me!" She then gets a better look at the Kryptonian architecture inside, which is already reassuring, being familiar, and she lets go of Kal to rush in and have a better look, "great Rao! Look! It's Uncle Jor and Auntie Lara! They're huge!" Kara admires the statues with exuberance. She'd never expected such honor bestowed in commemoration of members of her House.

*

Kal smiles and lets her run off into the Fortress, the doors closing behind them. "Well…I call it that because it's a place where I and others can just….breathe. the world isn't perfect, and it has it's judicial systems like Krypton had. Though…this one is much more…wild, untamed. But it's people hearts are in the right place." he sighs a moment then, but it's when Kara marvels at the statues that she has him smiling big and wide again…she could even get sunlight in there, her powers could grow fast. "It is indeed." he smiels warmly.

*

"Thank you so much for allowing me to stay here! I think it's the best!" Kara cries out happily, and it certainly better than anything she'd ever expect to see on Earth, a piece of her home world, to cherish all the memories, everything that was lost. Giving the strength to march forward with pride. Krypton is not forgotten, not yet. Thanks to her cousin!

*

Kal laughs happily, floating a bit off the ground to move over to Kara, putting a hand on her shoulder as he stands next to her now. "Our home may be lost, but never forgotten." he smiels warmly then. "and Kara, it is my greatest pleasure." he smiles big and wide then when she even compliments his…now their, home. "and remember.." he points to the House of El symbol on her chest, then to the one on his. "Your parents would be so proud of you, Kara. Everyone would." he says warmly "Lets do our family proud on this world called Earth." he smiles "Now then, shall I show you around? There's some -really- cool stuff here."

*

"Please do, I'd love to see everything!" Kara immediately set out to follow Kal, before hitting him with a torrent of questions, "how is the food here? Anything delicious that I should try? What do they do for fun? Is their science advanced like ours or are they a primitive alien species? Do you have any friends? Can I meet them?"

*

Kal doesn't seem to mind the barrage of questions, in fact, more than happy to answer them. "Whew, so many questions." he laughs a bit "But that's good. hmmm the food here is -fantastic-, there's this thing called a cheeseburger, and it is to die for." he smiles to her warmly "Hm for fun? uuuhmmmm that's alot in and of itself. Reading, walking, jogging, something they call videogames, a multitude of sports….whew, thats a big category." a small chuckle then. "They are still relatively primitive in comparison, but they have alot of really intelligent people that helps them advance beyond their time I think." he smiles then as he shows her to her room first, and it actually looks -really- comfortable.

Queensized bed with malleable mattress that helps really for comfortability, those perfect sheets and a multitude of pillows for every luxury. and it's kinda large too. a nice desk for working, a good mirror…and despite the ice, it's actually kind of warm. weird.

*

"Would you have any less coming to an alien planet to find your baby cousin is way older than you, Kal?" Kara asks, turning to stare at him and shaking her head, "I still can't wrap my head around it…I used to play with you, hold you in my arms, and you just carried me over here…it's crazy!" She follows on the tour of the Fortress of Solitude, taking it all in.

*

Kal would laugh a bit as he continued to show her around…hey, she did want to see -everything- and as such, at her words of playing with him and carrying him in her arms, he grins at her mischievously "Guess it's my turn now!" and he scoops her up in his arms to rock about lovingly in that playful demeanor of his.

*

"Hey! Stop!" Kara squeals as she's picked up by Kal once again, before she can really do anything about it, "I'm not a little girl, I was about to take my trials you know!" She starts with a fuss, before noting, "wait a minute! You never even was about to take your trials, so that makes me your senior still!" Well, it's a valiant effort, to be sure!

*

Kal just -laughs- joyously as he and Kara just let loose and have fun. After all, they were cousins, and when you've missed family so much, you get to cut loose a little. "I know!" he says with a chuckle, though then she pulls the trials card on him, and he lets her go "oookkkaayyy ooookkkkaaayyy." he says with a bit of a smile, his arms crossed as he gives her a playful nudge.

*

Crossing her arms as she tries to take on an authoritative posture after being put down, Kara looks up at Kal with a smirk, "I'm surprised you actually know about them, I guess the education crystals are all good!"

*

Kal rubs the back of his neck with a big smile "Hehe, I've been aroudn the universe a bit too. but most of it is from the crystals." a smile there as he continues to show her around the place….it only takes forever because it's HUGE! "..I'm truly happy you're here Kara. On this world, I'm known by two names. Superman, which is known as a hero on earth and beyond, which people started calling me when I first donned the garb of our home, and Clark Kent, my human name that I adopted when I was raised by a human family." he smiles warmly then. "It's been an interesting road."

*

"Oh?" Kara listens with interest, "do you think I should get a human name too?" She ponders, before noting with excitment, "if you're Superman, I can be Supergirl! Can I be a hero too? Will people like me if I'm a hero? I want to have friends! I'd hate to be alone…"

*

Kal turns to her with a big smile at her excitement "I mean, I think you would have a better chance at fitting in without descrimination if you chose a human name….Hmmmm howw abouutt.. Kara Danvers?" he ponders curiously, though at the name Supergirl, he beams "I think that'd be a great idea Kara. This world is our home now, and It's been a mission of mine to defend it…and if you wish, I'll show you how to be a hero. Though Kara, people will like you for you. Because you're a pure soul, and you have a heart of gold." he smiles to her as he puts a hand on her shoulder "that said, you'll have plenty of friends I'm sure. Your very likeable." very observant too.

*

"Kara Danvers…" Kara tastes the name on her lips, it sounds foreign, but then on this planet people may be more comfortable with it than they would with Zor-El. "If you think it's a good idea, maybe I'll do that," Kara notes, before jumping for joy at Kal's acceptance of her other idea, "awesome!" Only after she jumps, she kinda stays floating in the air, and staring down at the ground beneath her she squees, "I did it!!! I'm flying too! Well…hovering! But it's similar!" Her excitment is outpouring for a few moments, before she catches what Kal just said, and looks at him with a confused expression, "it's very nice of you to say that about me, but how would you even know? Last time I saw you, you were a baby Kal!"

*

Kal seems to just -beam- when she jumps in the air….and -stays- there! "Your doing it Kara! your Kryptonian DNA is reating to the yellow sunlight." he smiles as he floats up to her effortlessly. He does give her his hands as if to help her control that now, notably to help her land. "As for how I know, well, you can generally tell someone's personality and how they are within the first few hours of meeting them, or so I've learned. Unless they are a really….really…really hard nut to crack.." thank you Batman for that one. "Besides, Im sure you were great at taking care of me when I was real small." he smiles to her warmly.

*

"Thanks," Kara remarks as she is helped down by Kal, smiling a silly smile at her initial inability to get back down after floating up. "I was great at it, actually! Auntie Lara said so herself! So…" she shifts topic again and asks, "when do I get to meet your friends? I want to have friends too!"

*

Kal smiles to Kara as he helps her down "You're welcome." and he smiles when he hears of his real mother thinking of Kara as doing fantastic at caring for him "She said that.." he goes quiet for a moment, happy just to hear of his mother and he puts a hand on his heart and a warm smile graces his features once more, happy as can be. "Thank you for that Kara..I don't hear about her as much as I would like." though when asked about meeting his friends, he chuckles lightly "hmmm well, you already met Power Girl, Blue Marvel, and Green Lantern, so you've already met three of my good ones. So don't worry, you'll meet the rest very soon. your on a great start." a wry grin there, but it was an honest one.

*

"Well, I'll be sure to tell you bits and pieces here and there," Kara offers with a warm smile, "I'm so invested in myself, I forget it must be worse for you, you didn't even get to meet your parents before they were gone. At least I had some time with mine…I loved staying over at your parents' house and playing with you. You were the cutest baby ever, you have no idea! Your smile could melt the toughest substance, including Jor-El! I was always intimidated by him, he was so serious all the time…always wanted to know how I'm doing in school, pushing me to focus on my studies more and play less." She nods at Kal's relating of some of his friends, "good! That's a solid start…that black man was amazing, he could do such fantastic things! He picked up my spacecraft all on his own!"

*

Kal warms his smile more when he hears of his father, looking at the ground but chuckling when he hears of himself as a baby. "Heh, I wasn't -that- cute…." he turns a faint shade just from maybe embarrassment or just feeling special at the time. Regardless, he does chuckle when she speaks of Blue Marvel "Our powers and his are -very- similar I've learned…though I don't know their limits." he shrugs then though recalling when he picked up her spacepod with his hand, he chuckles then "My only regret is that I wasn't the first one to see you." he chuckles lightly "But at least I was a good surprise, and trust me, so were you…but I haven't been this happy in a long time." he smiles to her big and warm.
