Avenging, Time?

March 21, 2017:

Nathaniel and Starfire meet and discuss, differences?

//Avengers Mansion - New York City //

The Avenger Mansion is a three-story townhouse at 890 Fifth Avenue,
between the 70th and the 71st street. The building was built by Howard Stark
and was the Starks residence until his death.

The mansion grounds are surrounded by a wall topped by a metal fence that
altogether is twelve feet tall. Appearing like rough stone and aged bronze,
it is actually made of advanced, extremely resilient concrete and steel. The
mansion itself is surrounded by a lawn on three sides. The main entrance is
on Fifth Avenue, and the back entrance leads to a parking space for land
vehicles.

The ground floor is dedicated to common area living space for the resident
Avengers. There is a sizable kitchen, a dining room, a large library, a
living room and a large space converted for public conferences, much akin to
a slightly smaller version of the West Wing press office.

Fade In…

The Avengers Mansion has been fully operative for a month or so, but Nathaniel still spends here a few hours every day, adding programs to the computer systems or working in the labs in one of his projects.

He is not doing that today, since finally he has dragged Kori here to see the place. Not much to see in the first floor, though. The rooms are furnished in an elegant but archaic style, near a century old. Underneath the technology is Earth cutting edge, but still seems primitive for Nathaniel, and probably for Kori. "We did not change much of this floor; the elder Starks had all like this and I suspect Tony did never truly live here after they died."

The extended invite was not turned down as Starfire is always open to learning new things as well as seeing what her friends had been up to. The Crew had the new imports aboard the ship and who could be stabilized after the genetic testing and stretch, is. Now just to find the NuHUmans a home, as her ship… Well not a home for those unknowing of such a life. Queensland could only take so much and they had their own strife.

A reprieve was good, none the less and so she took the offer, getting the tour from Nathaniel. "Why would he not? If his family left him a legacy that is not eradicated, he should." But don't expect Kori to understand it all fully, she never will.

"You should ask him, I suppose," the mansion is in one of the city's best streets and the view to Central Park are very nice. "Maybe he preferred to build his own place," replies Nathaniel, pointing to the Stark Tower through the window. "For the Avengers it is perfect. We are in the center of the most important city of the world this century. And we are close to the people we are supposed to help. And also very close to the Triskelion and the United Nations."

Starfire watches where Nathaniel gestures, her eyes skimming and then narrowing for focus, her head tilting slightly as she looks back his way. She can understand thinking singularly… In her past. But now?

"JLA teaches we help everyone and all. You should speak to them. How much space do you have here?" Leaving the window she walks along the spanse of space, recalling everything he said during their tour.

"I have some… People… On my ship who need a place and under the right training may fit in your Triskelion and Nation, although they were born here, but… Reborn?"

"Inhumans, yes," Nathaniel nods. "Inhomo Supremis. Yet, they are still American citizens. I imagine most of they would want to return to their regular lives. Some will want to join the Attilan survivors, or join one of the other communities. The Inhuman have several hidden enclaves over the world. They will claim their own when they feel ready."

How much space they have here? Nathaniel takes Starfire's arm and leads her to the stairs to the second floor. There are a dozen suites. This is not a good place for refugees, really. Not large enough. What training facilities we have are underground and thought for veteran super-humans, not for newly changed."

Starfire stares at Nathaniel as he speaks about this NuWave with knowledge, his guiding hand to usher her forward given pause. "But… There is no known… Attilan… here.. If you know so much, why have you not taken them to their Attilan?" The curiosity is feline like, leading to a tilt of her head. The people that she protects have suffered enough and coped because nothing else has been known, the JLA is stretched thin, and her hands have been stained… But he makes it sound so simple…

"Nor is my ship fitting, but it helps them all." The suites are looked over and his explanations heard, but the dip of brows do not understand, and it is evident.

"Because Attilan was in the moon, and Apocalypse destroyed the city, Kori, to steal the Terrigen Mist, I assume." This is not a secret, SHIELD and the DEO knew of Attilan destruction. He frowns. No one told the Justice League, sometimes he overlooks the obvious because it is so… petty the DEO didn't.

Of course they did not; they preferred to use Cadmus for their experiments.
Nathaniel Richards says, "Alright… looks like you need to contact with one of the older enclaves if not Attilan survivors," decides Nathaniel. "They would likely welcome the new breed of Inhumans. I might be able to help in this regard.""

"Attilan survivors?" Kori shrugs, "If they have the power to help thier people, then so be it, as we are running out of spaces, places, and resources despite our losses." Nathaniel seems to know so much and them, so little, and yet here they sit - scrambling to adapt and aid.

"Maybe you should help, then." Kori points out, looking at the nice layout that spans more then her own ship and yet is… lacking?

"Maybe you can clear the radio silence." The blunt phrasing is one meant to be such as she simply reclines into a padded chair and stares forward.

"I… suppose," ventures Nathaniel, wondering how many could they salvage from the city. Maybe not much since they have not stepped forward. "Honestly, I do not know what you really need. Most of them should need little more than a basic education in handling their powers. Most must be adults. Oh, this is my room," easily identifiable by the amount of silly junk he collects. 'Historical artifacts' that are not historical at all. Except for the stuff he brought from Egypt, maybe.
