Fade In…

It's midday afternoon. The day has firmly decided that today it's heading toward a bright and starry evening. Which in Manhattan is rare enough that most are taking advantage of the crisp clear weather before the slush of autumn decends upon them all. One such couple is one Pietro Maximoff and Darcy Lewis.

Pietro is tall and lean with unruly silver hair and his usual athletic clothes. One hand holds a waffle cone topped with double scoop from Cold Stone Creamery. The other hand holds one of Darcy's.

Darcy is not unreasonably short, but neither is she statuesque. In her combat boots and legging and oversized sweater dress and knit beanie, her own unruly brown waves spill to near her waist as she walks at Pietro's side. The hand not hoding his has an ice cream cone of her own. She's got some chocolate and vanilla and oreo cookie monstrocity. He's got what must be four different flavors, all different colors. And she's laughing at him about it.

"It's disguisting, Pietro! Mint chocolate, Pistaccio, Cotton Candy, AND ROcky Road?! I swear to Jesus, you have ice cream ADD," she's saying to him, a laugh bubbling around affection in her voice. Behind her red-framed glasses, her green eyes sparkle happily at him.

-

Constantine slouches in the entryway to an old brownstone, the kind of place that used to house financial firms and now serves like a mausoleum for the old brokers themselves, letting them live in the increasingly decrepit luxury to which they've become accustomed.

And sometimes not live in it, which is why Constantine spent the day inside fumigating. In terms of driving out evil spirits, it wasn't much, but the old ghost at least had some new profanity, although nothing's entirely new to Constantine in that regard.

He sees the happy couple heading his way and draws on his cigarette. Ice cream doesn't sound bad.

-

"Hey, some of us need more calories than others. And I love the calories that come in different flavors. Just… Pistaccio? Wasn't it lemon?… Anyway." Pietro dismisses the subject by quickly stealing from Darcy's ice cream and showing delight in his smile. "Why do you need chocolate /and/ Oreo? Jeez, too much calories. You're lucky you have me to take care of them." He says teasingly, sporting that heavily marked Transian accent.

"Did you hear the news about giant footprints outside NY?" By 'news' he may be referring to her job, easily. And before she can notice, another bit of ice cream disappears from her cone.

-

Wanda is a wanderer. It goes back to her travaller roots and her homeless days on the New York streets. Now that most of X-Red have not only moved out but disappeared, it's way too lonely to stay at the HQ most days. Clad in black tights, black skirt, a t-shirt and trademark scarlet jacket, she makes her way through the park quietly and without attracting any attention. She hopes.

And then she spots her brother and one of his five hundred (and counting) girlfriends. Should she interrupt? The way Wanda backs away and tries to find a tree to hide behind suggests she thinks this is not a time for her to admonish his memory once more.

-

"Pistaccio is a nut, you NUT," Darcy quips back at Pietro, gasping as he steals some ice cream from her. She tries to jam some of it up his nose in retribution. "And do not mock the chocolate AND oreo. Ever." Her head tilts faintly at the 'news', distracted from him stealing ice cream by the question. "No. I hadn't. And not even from work."

-

Constantine flicks his eyes up at Wanda's presence. He senses it, of course, because sensing shit is part of his job description, if he can be said to have a job at all. Nothing officially taxable, of course, but he'd probably be on the dodge for 'em anyway.

Chaotic. Powerful. Nothing to be trifled with. Hostile? Eh, hope not, that could be messy. He weren't in the mood for mess, although that never stopped it before. He was the magic world's own kitchen roll, waiting to be undone to sop up the latest spill.

-

Quicksilver is known for being… quick. And dodging ice-cream strikes is something he has recent practice with. "I know what Pistaccio is!" Probably he didn't, "But deciding between so many flavor is stressing. So I just went to the green… greenish… one?" Not his best explanation. But not his worst, either. "And I'm not mocking your chocolate mix. Or maybe I am, yes. I think I am." Super-human speed, so useful for the upcoming attack that surely will come in!

As a former thief, Pietro is not always actively aware of his surroundings, but his instinct never sleeps. And someone hiding behind a tree is not the most usual behavior around. But, for now, his attention is somewhere else. He holds Darcy's hand a bit tighter and steals now a little kiss. "Well, maybe it was nothing, then. People are very superstitious. But a friend of a friend mentioned that, so I thought I should ask you."

-

Of course Wanda could just disappear from view…or even fly away…but for some reason she's chosen hiding behind a tree as the way to go. She too feels a power familiar but not felt for quite some time. Her brow furrows as she glances around but since she's chosen cover she can't look too far. Heaaring her brother approach she closes her eyes because, as everyone knows, that means they can't see you either.

-

"What are you even talking about?" Darcy saying, laughing and going for a bite of her ice cream. She doesn't spot the magic types. She doesn't have that ability. In fact, she doesn't have much abilities to begin with, except putting up with Pietro. And eating his cooking.

-

Constantine takes a step to the side in the doorway, going back in, only to emerge from behind a tree and walk out next to Wanda, "Spyin's the sorta thing gon' get you poked in the eye, you know that, right, luv? Not that I'm judgin'. It ain't in me t'judge nobody fer nothin', I got too much soot on me own soul fer that. I never did understand the urge t'eat pistachio ice cream, though. Chocolate be right there, an' strawberry. Even vanilla. But no, some birds would rather eat green nuts an' just not the girls what date the Hulk."

-

"WANDA!" Maybe, just maybe, they can see you even if your eyes are closed. "Oh. My. God. WANDA!" Pietro laughs joyfully. Yes, hiding behind a tree is a good way to get a thief's attention. And from the moment he looked at her, all the memories of his sister flowed back to him, bringing a new light to his azure eyes. "What are you—What are you doing hiding there? Oh, I know! You were spying on me!" He raises a brow, but can't contain another excited laugh.

He rushes to hug her, as if he hadn't met Scarlet Witch it a lifetime! And, for him, that is almost the case…

"Darcy, do you remember the sister I have been talking about? The one who disappears and likes to hide behind trees? Well, let me introduce you to Wanda Maximoff." He says sweetly to the SHIELD agent, letting a heartbeat before continuing. "And, sister, I already told you about my girlfriend. So, here she is. The most wonderful and lovely girlfriend of all. Darcy Lewis." A big smile is casted, his words so rushed but still (hopefully) discernible.

Then, and looking at Jhon by his side, he steps back in a little hop.

"Oh, am I interrupting something? I'm sorry, how rude of me. I'm," now turning to Constantine, "Pietro Maximoff. It's nice to meet you. So, is this a double date, I see?" His grin is briefly interrupted by some other exclamation.

"A monster!" He shouts, pointing at a giant pterodactyl-like beast, surrounded by lighting volts, that advances through the sky! But, first things first: "I told you!" He adds to Darcy.

-

So much for the closed eye defence. Wanda's right eye flickers open to look at Constantine. "I was not spying…I had my eyes closed" she sniffs in her Transian accent. "I am hiding from my brother and his latest girlfriend. I do not want to interrupt their date. Are they coming this way?" She turns her head…ever so slightly…to check but still refuses to move past the tree. "You are giving me away, John, hide!" Her brow furrows. "What does green nuts have to do with the Hulk?" A pause before she goes bright red. "Oh!"

And then her brother is in her face. Wanda smiles feebly but hugs back as strong as him. She does like it when he remembers her. "Hello, Darcy" she smiles shyly at the current girlfriend…oh the things she could tell her. "It is nice to meet you. I am sorry that you have to put up with my br…what? No, this is not a date! John is a friend, that is all. He prefers strippers…and I mean that in a nice way." If there is a nice way of putting it.

Monster? Wanda looks up to see the creature as scarlet energy forms around her fingertips. "That is not good" she notes helpfully.

-

His. sister? The one he claims he can't remember like at all? The one she told her SO May about and now has SHIELD's WAND department on the look out for as a favor to him? You mean THAT sister? Darcy follows after Pietro, trying to keep up with his words. She can tell he's excited by the speed at which he's speaking. And she smiles lightly at it, though her eyes are on Wanda.

"Hello, Wanda. It's fine. If he wasn't so good with his-" whatever she was going to complement is lost to OMGthere's a monster. She looks up at it and sighs. Not freak out. Not scream like a civilian and run for it. Nope. She sighs.

"Again? Dammit. I'm not on salary here, UNiverse. I'm an hourly monkey," Darcy grumbles, eyes flicking back to Wanda's glowing hands. Magic. Right.

"Can yo udrop that thing away from civilians? I'll see about getting people out. That's something I can do. And call for back up, if you can't drop it. Which I'm sure you can. I mean… Pietro's sister right? He's boss, so you've got to be boss too." Or something. Wow, she rambles like Pietro. Peas in a pod.

-

Constantine looks at Pietro and moves to take his hand, "John Constantine. Nah, you ain't interruptin' nothin, mate, just your average bit o' kismet," he says, then finds himself fairly distracted by the sudden appearance of something titanic and out of place.

"Well, an' here I thought summer was over, but the blockbusters keep on comin'," he says, going to light a smoke. "Don't suppose there's a hell's snow chance that thing's all friendly? Maybe offer it a bit o' yer nut cream, who knows?" he says, moving to squat and starting to rummage around in his pockets.

-

"Thankfully you meant it in a nice way." Pietro adds to his sister, while looking at Constantine in better detail. "This one looks better than Bobby." He mutters, remembering that time he met Iceman because of Wanda, and ended in an interesting—No time for that. There's a monster. And Darcy. And John again! "It's a pleasure to meet you." His hand is shaken. "And, I don't know. My ice cream has had mixed reviews. Which is what people say when a movie is not good at all, but they want to look polite still." The cone receives a sad look, followed by a sigh.

The monster, on the other hand, looks seriously angry.

His shouts are violent and frequently unleashed. The shocks of light around it tear the sky, that is slowly getting darker. The creature's eyes are flickering blue. And, even now, the creature doesn't seem to be attacking anything (or at least, yet), but flying in circles. People, down on the streets, are naturally freaking out.

-

May knows Wanda quite well. She once wanted to put her in prison so maybe Darcy's SO is being deliberately obtuse. "It is not doing anything bad" the witch notes to the others, even as the power builds around her hands - sparking around the contorting fingers. "I think it is just lost" she adds with a frown. "We can all understand feeling that way, da?" Her mind reaches out to the creature, trying to find any thoughts…and emotions. Thankfully she avoided hearing Constantine say 'nut cream'.

"Bobby is gone" Wanda notes coldly to her brother before concentrating on the matter at hand once more. "Constantine, can you help open a portal if we need it?"

-

In May's defense, Darcy didn't have a name until just now. Well, except Maximoff. But what May doesn't tell Darcy is May's business. With people panicking, Darcy hands her cone over to Pietro.

"Here, Gonzalez. Eat this and stay out of the way. Maybe zip in and yank me out if this thing dive bombs me? K? K. Thx. Bai," and she's striding to the crowd to direct traffic with an authority in her voice that comes from years of bossing people around. First it was ill-tempered rolelr skating girls, then it was astrophysists, then it was SHIELD agents. It means she misses most of the conversation.

-

Constantine seems to be fussing with something down below. If someone looks closely, he seems to have drawn a few pieces of paper out of his pockets, beginning the complex process of folding and refolding them together while muttering something under his breath. As he does so, various markings start to appear on the paper, ink spreading out o fnothing as if by magic. Because, of course, it is by magic, you bloody git.

Hearing Wanda's question, he looks up, "Oh, yah, if we need it, luv, but lessee if I can lure yon beastie away," he says. And then he lifts his hand up to reveal an origami pterodactyl, made of pink and blue and green paper. And he blows upon it.

At which point it lifts and rises, starting to fly of its own accord, growing and growing to craft an illusion of reality around itself as it swings past the flying monster and tries to lure it away and out to see, "C'mon, c'mon, go fuck the paper dino now, laddie…" he mutters.

-

Pietro's impatience grows exponentially. If that bird, or whatever it is, was closer to the ground, he could do… something. But his ability is not helpful right now. "Get closer to the building, little monster…" He mutters. Perhaps he is thinking of running vertically through the building, which he can achieve with enough effort. But it will only work if the flying Kaiju moves from its current position. "What if he is calling for more, Wanda?"

To Darcy, he nods silently. The cone is taken, and he tries not to break it in his hand, product of his growing anxiety.

"I had no idea…" Quicksilver answers to his sister, with a saddened tone. Because yes, he didn't like Bobby after… what happened. But he doesn't want Wanda to feel sad. And there is a monster above.

The electric seemingly prehistoric bird flinches as the origami bird approaches and enlarges. The bolts are now completely directed at the new hand-made monster. The blue-eyed monstrous creature (the one that flies, not the speedster) gains altitude, though still remaining on top of that very urban area.

-

Wading into the panciking crowd and getting them mocing all in the same direction. This while she slaps her blue tooth head piece into her ear and dials the office. "Dispatch. This is Agent Lewis. I need WAND agents, 114th and Hackberry, Manhattan. I've got an electric Mrs. Pteradon.." She glances up. "…and a paper bird. Civilians panicking. I'm running crowd control. Three non-SHIELD assests on scene. Maximoff, Wanda - Pietro. The other, I didn't catch the name, but his accent's thicker than Jemma's and no where near as pretty."

-

Constantine lights a fresh cigarette as he watches the thing start to attack his origami ptero instead of chase after it, "Damn, I'd hoped it was just randy, but I guess it ain't exactly spring, is it? Awright, s'ppose that means we gotta take a little more care wit' it, especially since folks is gettin' jittery. I ain't much inclined to put the kill on random fauna, even o' the exotic sort, less'n there's a good reason an' it ain't done nothin' too hostile yet. Whatcha think, Wanda, can ya hex its brains enough to put 'er to sleep?"

-

Pietro glances constantly in Darcy's direction. He is not worried for her safety, because she would survive even more than him, but still… he worries. And that sense of impotence about the giant flying monster doesn't help. For now, there's something he /can/ do.

"Just in case, I will clear the immediate area of civilians. I don't want to harm that thing if it doesn't harm us, but I'm nervous. And I'm not nice when I'm nervous. So if Fawx is still there when I'm finished, I will try to get up there, ok?" Yes, maybe he is thinking about the vertical ascension running on the building. But, for now, he dashes around taking every person below the monster to somewhere safe.

The Pterodactyl's lighting bolts are fierce and well directed. It is certainly a killing machine if it wants to, that's for sure. The origami bird falls after two more strikes, but before it is far below, the unknown creature flies and catches it in its claws. Is it… hunting?

-

Darcy's call in to SHIELD is acknowledged, and teams sent out in response. May is just faster about getting there. She cheats. She arrives at a run, looks up at the lightning-spitting pterodactyl, then at the closest ground-based person not dashing about wildly. "Constantine. That thing needs a grounding strap." And if the Brit doesn't understand that she will be less than surprised. But she'll at least give him the chance.

-

Constantine peers at May, "Oh great, this is what I need, extra bossin' around. Y'know, lady, I don't actually work fer you," he says. Still, he starts to work towards how to conjure what the lady's asking for, if only because he won't hear the end of it if he doesn't at least try and because he has no particular ideas of his own at the moment.

"Why don't ya ask Ivory and Scarlet there to figure out what their particular plan is, while I muddle along making up genius magick at a moment's notice t'no fuckin' gratitude as usual? Huh? How 'bout dat?"

-

"A portal would send it away" Wanda offers to anyone who wants to listen. "No one dies…not even the bird. It is already lost…" She has no proof of that but she wants to believe the best in everything. "If it does not come from this world then it should not die here." But with SHIELD showing up it is unlikely her world view will have many takers.

A defeated sigh before Wanda raises her hand to cast her magics. She doesn't attack the bird - no point annoying it further. Instead she changes the composition of the air around it. What was once breathable is now also a sedative. If they want the bird down then it is coming down…if it is the breathing type.

-

The speedster, after moving away the people who had not already run out in panic, stops beside the SHIELD newcomer. "Agent May. How are you? I'm afraid we always meet when there are monster to be fought?" His voice is warm and friendly, smiling to Melinda, though it's understandable that he is not as joyful as ever, everything considered.

The flying Kaiju tears down the origami creation, giant pieces of paper now falling to the street. It's peck furiously destroys the last remnants, visibly furious for the fact it wasn't the meal it was hoping. And now that cold blue stare descends to the caster of that magic bird, just to be caught by Scarlet Witch's own spell. The effect is not immediate, for the creature, being used to live in high places, doesn't need as much oxygen. But its wings move slower and slower, and his altitude is reduced noticeably.

-

Melinda May looks at Constantine flatly for about two seconds before turning to find the two people he's mentioned. She's not even expecting him to use magic, just go find a long extension cord, expose the wire on both ends, and fasten one end to a fire hydrant or similar. Really, not rocket surgery. When Quicksilver appears next to her and says hello, she simply nods at his rapidfire words. "Help Constantine find a way to create a grounding wire for that creature." She then offers toward Wanda, "If you can get it back to where it belongs before the support teams arrive, there's nothing I can do to stop you by myself." The SHIELD teams are still a few minutes away.

-

"I do not know where it belongs" Wanda replies to May as she continues to change the structure of the air around the beast - there is a lot of air up there and it is becoming a struggle. "But I could send it away if it does not belong here. Will you kill it, May? Or will you study it? I am tired of death." Looks like Wanda is in Happy Land today.

-

"I've eaten /A LOT/ today, just ask Darcy. Not right now. Later." Pietro retorts to May. "So, I think I can help my sister and bring it down. By the way, I will introduce you two as soon as we finish this!" His speeding words are all that's left in the place, as the mutant sprints using all his effort in the closest building's direction. It's not usual for him to push himself to his own limits, but if he doesn't, it would be… deadly.

A silver blur is drawn through the street and then vertically on the building's wall, defying gravity with the help of his super-human ability. Then, with the help of a kick of his feet so strong that accidentally breaks a window, the oldest (by several minutes!) Maximoff twin jumps, spinning on the air and landing on top of the Pterodactyl. It's good the lighting bolts are almost non-existent by now, as the creature is falling into drowsiness. And It's also good that the weight of the speedster is not as light as it looks, forcing the Kaiju to drop more and more.

"I don't mean to rush you, but if you take a decision before this thing fries me up, it would be so much appreciated!" He exclaims to May and Wanda, trying not to fall before the Ptero-Kaiju does!

-

Melinda May watches Pietro run off again and Constantine start doing … something. Then at the speedster's shout from the avian creature's back, she makes her decision. "Send it away." She'll deal with the fallout on her end. It won't be the first time, likely won't be the last.

-

"I would but my idiot brother just jumped on its back and is now breathing in sleeping gas" Wanda replies to May with obvious frustration. "If I open a portal then my brother goes with it." Though it is tempting…so tempting. Instead she redoubles her efforts with the anasthetic air and hoping Pietro's metabolism will take care of any effects.

-

Pietro stays on the monster just long enough to be sure he will fall to the floor. And a little more to take a pic from his phone. Because you're not on top of such a beast every day! "Ok, pretty bird, see you on the street. Don't make me wait." He whispers before jumping off and running down the building, just as he got up there in the first place.

"It was worth it. Instagram will love it. And I'm pretty much alive." The mutant's eyes are heavy for a moment. Even his fast metabolism is not enough to cope with the sleepy gas his sister casted. He leans on the wall. "Will you keep it as a pet, Wanda? Or send it somewhere else? Just don't send it to my place. It's messy enough as it is. And I'm planning on getting a cat. And you know, cats and birds are…" He smiles slowly. "I missed you, sis." Sleepy gas!

-

The bird thuds into the ground and Wanda takes a moment to catch her breath. May's teams can do all the tying up and stuff that now needs doing - as long as they treat it well. "I missed you too" she smiles to Pietro. She can't stay mad at him for too long. "I think your girlfriend ran away. She seems nice. No, I do not want it as a pet. But I do not want it dead either. Not without good reason."

-

Pietro smirks, shaking his head and falling to sit on the floor. "She is evacuating people. Getting help. That's what she does. Saving the world. We all want to save the world, don't we? And she will be back, with a smile, knowing people are saved… And then there's Pietro, who can run faster than most, but can't do enough when the terror comes from the sky?" His rambling is unusually slow. Not super slow, just as slow as a normal person would talk. And maybe, just maybe, it's not because of the sleeping gas. He is just… wondering. And smiling. "You will love her, I know." The mutant's words are sincere and calmed. "Even more than everyone's love for the pic I have now! I think Birdie is just lost. He could have fried me. But he didn't. And that says a lot." He would pat the monster if it was closer! "And your magical date, sis?" He teases with a grin.

-

"He was not my date" Wanda glares at her brother before adding, "Do not make me turn you into a snail." She looks at the bird since it is easier to deal with. "I do not have dates" she mumbles before looking for May and the SHIELD teams - never around when you want them. "As long as you are happy then I will like her" she offers about Darcy.

-

Melinda May returns from having stepped out of the way to talk with the approaching SHIELD teams. "I've spoken with my superiors. THey'd like to examine the creature, and then if you'd be willing to help," she nods to Wanda, "it can be safely relocated to a habitat that suits its needs." And hopefully won't have any humans to try and kill it or be killed. She looks at Quicksilver sitting on the sidewalk and speaking at a normal pace, and her eyebrows draw together slightly. "Are you okay?"

-

"I am happy, yes. Very happy." Pietro tells his sister. "And I will be happier if you don't turn me into anything, by the way! A snail? Seriously? I am not only your brother, but also your older brother. And your favorite brother. And even your most… mutant… brother! Do you have an idea of how many people would do /anything/ to have a brother like me? Even Birdie would like to have a brother like me. Don't you, Birdie?" Needless to say, the Kaiju doesn't respond. "Actually… I hope he has no family around… No offense, Birdie." He smirks again. "I am fine, Agent May. Thank you very much, really, for your help. I'm happy no one was harmed tonight. Just, one thing,"

Quicksilver gets to his feet.

"Agent May, this is my sister. Wanda. The one I told you about… but, sadly, I couldn't remember her name… Actually, I /can't/ remember, unless I've seen her recently. Because, well, I don't know." For a moment, the sadness is evident. "But, anyway, I wanted to introduce you. And, sister, she is Melinda May. She is not only Darcy's SO, but an awesome person. An awesome person who I hope will train me, because I've heard she is a ninja too." Yeah, informing her instead of asking, but always as friendly as he can. That's how Pietro rolls.

-

"No, he is not okay, he is Pietro Maximoff" Wanda deadpans in reply to May's question before her borther is off and talking…and talking…and talking. "If you are the older twin then why am I the more mature one? Huh…not feeling so smart now" she teases.

A nod to May. "We have met, Pietro. She wanted to lock me up once." Wanda's eyes narrow in confusion. "You are Darcy's girlfriend?" Isn't that what SO means - significant other? "This is getting too complicated for me."

-

Melinda May nods to Wanda at the introduction… well, right up until the young man uses the word 'ninja'. Then, she gives him a flat look. "Never call me that again." If anyone knows Japanese feudal history, they'll understand why she took it as an insult.

And then Wanda is asking if she's Darcy's girlfriend and it's almost more than May can do to keep a straight face. "No. Superior Officer. Technically, I'm her boss." Though not in the strictest terms, as Darcy is general SHIELD and May is in charge of the WAND division.

-

"Oh my god, this is why I don't introduce you to people, Wanda! Agent May, I'm sorry, I am the older brother and take responsibility for what she says." Pietro teases in return, and then he regains his unusual seriousness to add, "Oh, sorry for that, too."

The monster is completely asleep by now and ready for transport. All the electricity around has disappeared, and there are still bypassing observers who stare at it. There was a broken window (perhaps unnecessarily) but no further damage to be seen.

"But I still didn't hear a no to the training?" Quicksilver adds in almost a whisper. "And… lock you up?" Now to Wanda. "Wow. I'm totally the older twin here."

-

At least Darcy is true to her brother…just as well or she may have learned what it was like to be a newt! "I think it was a misunderstanding" Wanda notes about May's desire to lock her up. She watches as the giant bird is taken away, sadness and empathy in her expression. A half-smile for Pietro. "Older…yes. Wiser…" She shrugs. It's an honest answer. Still, she makes her way over to him and gives him a tight hug. "But I still love you" she smirks before an affectionate punch to his shoulder.

-

Melinda May turns to watch the creature being carted off, ready to step in and make sure the agents treat it carefully, but ultimately there's no need. She looks back at the siblings, watching them for a moment before finally answering Pietro's question about training. "You didn't hear a no." But, you didn't hear a yes, either.

-

He has never claimed to be wise. And he would never do. So, instead, Pietro fakes a frown and hugs his sister. "I /still/ love you too, Wanda. But you know I will love you /more/ when we figure out how to get my memories inside my head, don't you? And don't worry, I will always keep that giant pics on my wall, no matter what." After the punch, he pulls out his phone, unlocks it and reveals the wallpaper that is still there. "Voila." He says with a wink.

"So," the speedster walks, drawing circles around May. "I didn't hear a 'We won't meet tomorrow to train martial arts until you have become a black-belt in deadly punches and kicks' either." He may sound like a rookie, but receiving this kind of training is something he has done for most of his life. But, being an X-Man and after his almost-deadly encounter with Rogue and Beast, he has finally admitted he needs more refinement in his technique.

-

Wanda smiles at the picture on the phone before nodding. "Da, we will figure this out. And then you will not have to have a big picture of me on the wall looking down on your girlfriend as you…umm…whatever it is you do." She's blushing but thankfully Pietro has gone off to bother May again. "I can understand why you would not want to train him" she nods sagely, "Mother always used to complain that he took six years to be toilet trained." Where is Darcy? She should hear this.

-

Melinda May watches just a bit of Quicksilver's variation on pacing about. "You have to apply for and be approved as a contract agent at the very least before I"m allowed to start working on training with you." There's another option, of coure, but she's not about to mention it aloud. Especially with other SHIELD agents about.

-

Pietro cups his hands to hide his face as Wanda speaks, while still walking in circles, just to shrug afterwards and say to May, "I have the sister I deserve." His words return to Wanda for a moment, "I mean, the best sister ever. Of course." He is being honest, and amused, and still carrying an ironic tone, even when it's absolutely true. "Ok, but that's still not a no? I'm persistent, and persuasive, and you can ask Darcy. I really am." He is entertained, clearly not trying to push too much, but teasing all the time. "And just consider this: I could ask my sister, but she has the tendency to transform people into strange stuff when they bother her too much. And that's a very high risk, even for me!"

-

"I do not turn people into anything" Wanda sulks while her mind reaches for her brother's. 'Could you not say things like that to the woman who might want to lock me up' she says in his mind but who knows if it is heard among the tumult inside there. "I think I shall leave you to May" she smiles. "I will be a the X-Red HQ if you need me, Agent. Pietro…we will see each other again. I promise."

-

Melinda May nods to Wanda, having known that that was the easiest way to reach the woman, even if she didn't put two and two together about this pair being siblings. Then she focuses on Pietro again. "That means I don't have final say in it. But if you want any chance at all, the best way I know of is for you to sign up for contract work with SHIELD." Or join X-Red and have an in that way. Or train with May off the books. That last is the least likely to happen, considering how busy she is the majority of the time.

-

Quicksilver listens to Melinda and shrugs. "Ok, I will consider that. But, given how many incidents have been happening lately, two of them involving mysterious and colossal creatures, I wouldn't be surprised if we meet again soon enough. That is training too. Considering… what might happen soon…" Just thinking about Apocalypse is so painful to his ego, that he drifts to the next topic immediately.

"Of course," Pietro says, glancing at his sister for a fraction of a second after the mental message has been received, "I was clearly joking." The feline circling turns to a straight walk to Wanda. "Before you go," And he just takes her into a tight hug. "Please." He lets out, knowing that he will probably forget everything about her very soon. And still, as always, and even more to Wanda, he manages to smile. "Take care… Ok?"

-

Wanda returns the hug - tight and lingering - before she nods. "I will…and you too. No more trying to impress your girlfriend by jumping on giant birds" she teases though she knows he won't listen to her…not about that at least. Reaching into her jacket pocket she pulls out a business card for him - X-Red…or whatever they'll be called soon. "I know you won't remember much but call that number if you are ever in trouble. Okay? It is very lonely there at the moment." Wanda stares at him for a long time, remembering him even though she doesn't have the memory problem. "Soon" she promises before pulling away and giving May a wave goodbye before heading off without a look back.

-

Melinda May watches Wanda take her leave, then looks at Peitro again. The SHIELD crews are getting everythign sorted out, not much left to do here.

-

"Yeah, I—" Pietro's words break before he can continue. He keeps grinning, of course, and he even wants to retort in some Quicksilver way, but, knowing what will happen once she leaves… He is not strong enough for this. Words are not needed, though. Not right now. He stares at her, and when she turns, his fingers hold the card as the flying Kaiju held the origami bird in its claws. Without breaking it, of course, but there is something else that breaks, deep inside.

The monster problem, or what is left of it, is in good hands. With SHIELD personal taking care, that's one less thing for the speedster to care about. He stares long, watching as everything returns to normality.

"Did she say something about jumping on birds to impress—" No, she didn't. Or maybe she did, but he can't remember now. It's just… gone. And, even if at this point he can't make sense of any of it, deep inside he knows something is missing. But the card is in his pocket. His phone is now locked, silently treasuring the picture that could bring those memories back. There is nothing he can do about it. So much, inside of him, is locked as well.

But not all that is locked, is lost.

"I should check on Darcy. I have to… tell her about Birdie." There he is. Quicksilver. Speaking and thinking at the speed of a normal human being. "I will cook something for her, and we will watch movies." His mind battling an internal fight against the mist that clouds him. A battle we cannot win. "Thank you again, Agent May. And I hope that, when we meet again, it will be in better conditions. Also, don't think you won and I gave up on the training. Did I mention I can be persuasive?" He manages a smirk and a gentle nod.

-

Melinda May simply nods to Quicksilver and turns to go join the SHIELD agents wrapping up their duties in the area. "Take care of yourself, Maximoff. And, don't forget to look at your phone when you get a moment." That might seem random, but hopefully why she said this will be clear to the speedster when he does look at his phone.
