Fade In…

Night time. In Gotham. Tonight's Spoiler's night on this side of town. And tonight, Stephanie is hardly able to contain the joy. Her full face mask hides the currently ever-present smile as she flits from roof top to roof top, pausing now and again to peer down to street level. She's just checking in on things. This store okay? Yes. Moving on. This business secure? Yes. Moving on. That person walking alone at night safe? No.

"Okay. Let's go," she whispers to herself in that rhythmed cheer-leader way. Her head bobs once and it wouldn't be hard to imagine her doing that with a hop and a clap into a fist on one hip and the other stretched high above her head. With out the zip-line grapple hook thing that is the staple of the Bat Family, Spoiler leaps down the long way, keeping quiet until she makesthe final drop with a soft thump on the concrete.

"Hey. Pick on someone your own size," says the youthful girl's voice, purposefully pitched high.. becasue that seemed amusing at the time. Her purple cape flutters down behind her three-point landing. One hand is behind her, getting the bo staff she'd learned and gotten from Robin.. Red Robin now.. out of the utility pocket at the small of her back. It is totally NOT a fanny pack.

Okay. Fine. It totally IS a fanny pack. It's her Spoiler Pack! HA! Stephanie cracks herself up.

Nathaniel spent a few hours at Sheldon Park because hey, last night the Avengers captured several super criminals and they were in the first page of New York newspapers. Nevermind he spent most of the fight as a stone statue. Starfire looks better in the pictures, anyway.

So he went to Gotham to relax and ended in Sheldon Park because the place is cool in a very 20th century archaic way. And he left when they closed, which is probably not safe because he didn't take the armor with him.

Relatively not safe. The couple thugs asking him for money (which he doesn't have) are not very dangerous, so he was giving them smartass responses when Spoiler appears. "Besides, I think I am rescued," he comments.

"Ohmygod. You stole my Spoiler Alert," Spoiler quips as she rises, bo staff extending from her hand at her side. Her tone doesn't sound bothered by the idea. Nothing, really, can bring her down tonight. She's going to get new gear! She's going to get new gear! And she got him to eat and drink. No small task. Spoiler is a very happy girl tonight. With a bounce, she leaps at the would-be muggers with they move to get physical. It doesn't take too terribly long to knock them out and then zip tie them. Really, the longest part of teh process was getting her SpoilerPhone (totally serious about this) with it's very sturdy looking LifeLock purple and black case out of her fanny pack (SPOILERPACK!) to take a picture of the thugs for Twitter.

"You're good right? Nothing bruised but your ego?" she says merrily to Nathaniel as she's typing her Tweet.

Nathaniel steps back and watches fascinated how Spoiler takes down two thugs almost twice her size. He even claps when she ties them up. "No bruising, ego is fine and you certainly made my night much better," he replies with a smile. "I am Nathaniel, by the way. Nathaniel Richards. Usually I go around in power armor, but I left it running diagnostics." Because it was also petrified and that could have secondary effects. That one was ego-bruising. "Who are you? Too purple for Batgirl, hmm?"

Tweet sent, Spoiler turns toward Nathaniel and even gives a bow when he claps for her.

"Oh good. I don't know of an ego-hospital if it was." There's a definite giggle to her voice. "I'm Spoiler. Batgirl's the other one. You have power armor? Wicked." The mask hides the faint blush at having made his night better, a blush that she ignores and hides with that bouncy chatter.

"Spoiler, good one," replies Nathaniel, offering his hand to shake. "Sorry if I did not recognize you. I am not from Gotham, although I know Bluebird a little. We met while she was investigating underground fight arenas. But I have yet to convince her to show me Gotham around, she is always busy."

The hand is taken, and shaken firmly without reservation. Not your typical bat, it seems.

"I've only run into her once. Haven't had the pleasure of patrolling with her yet. Like you said, way busy," Spoiler adds, the smile easy to hear in her voice just as sirens start. She glances toward the street.

"It's alright. I'd offer to show you around, but I'm not sure that would be a really great idea in this get up, I don't htink you would be quiet enough in power armor, and I'm not about to unmask just to give you a tour. I' sorry!" Her voice seems to wrinkle the way her nose is doing under the mask at those final words.

"No, I am not going to Metro for the armor just now," confirms Nathaniel with a faint grin. "And I am not going to ask you to unmask, that would be rude. Or unpatriotic in Gotham. Or both." And he is maybe not taking it too seriously either. But he said he is not from Gotham. "But, the only interesting spots open in Gotham this late are dangerous and often illegal, correct? I think you are dressed up just right for them."

The mask and hood bob up and down twice as Spoiler agrees with Nathaniel. "Right and right! …so, if you're not from Gotham, why are you here? I mean. I'm all for tourism! But…."

"But nothing, I have been exploring all the cities of the East Coast," exploring is an odd expression, but the truth is Nathaniel has a faint, strange accent that probably means he is a foreigner. "And Gotham has a bad reputation, but I can handle myself, it is not as I was planning to chase after the Joker or anything crazy."

The mention of whom has Spoiler growing serious, and the smile slides from face and tone. "Oh, good. Because he is No Joke, for reals. Bad news, all the time." A beat.

"I'm going to have to scoot for the police in a bit…."

Nathaniel nods, and looks at the unconscious thugs. "If you want, I can give the cops a statement. I am getting used to those and it would be cool to get to know some of the local cops. I did not intend to take too much of your time. Although I would love to meet you again. With or without a mask."

Stephanie pauses to consider this as the sirens draw closer.

"The cops here are… Well, it's Gotham. I wouldn't get too attached to most of them. And… if you meet me again without the mask, I'm not likely to let you realize it. So, I'll head out on a 'you really need to get where you're going and not wanswer aimlesly'."

Nathaniel chuckles. "I might recognize you anyway, your eyes are very distinctive. And I am covered," he pulls up his right sleeve to show Spoiler a high-tech bracer. Alien looking, really, as it is a Tamaranean communicator. "I can call for retrieval anytime, no need to worry."

Her eyes are… The blue-green color widens faintly at hte ramifications. She nods once then, puttng on a brave smile that can't be seen.

"Right. Just… no crazy super powers in city limits, okay? He's touchy about that sort of thing," she comments, not needing to say who He is, even as she's starting to turn away. Note to Spoiler: full AR lens, like the boys.

"It is just a machine," protests Nathaniel. Damn the bat-rules. "Oh, hey. I was not serious about the eyes. I am not that sharp, at least not without the armor. But cosmetic contact lens or goggles would help in some cases. Take care, will you?"

Spoiler pauses, shoulders relaxing as a breathy chuckle drifts clear.

"Yeah. Sorry. Secrecy is a weird thing. I wasn't offended just… you made a valid point, I hadn't thought about and… I was startled," she says, glancing back over a shoulder. "Machine or not. Super-stunts are a no-go. We've got enough crazies in this town without drawing in the 'level a city with a sneeze', if you know what I mean." Spoiler adds this with a nod of her head, before it tilts with an unseen smile. "You too, okay? I don't need to be dropping down playing hero for you ALL night." She might have winked before turning away to make the physical leap straight up to catch the top of the first first-escape rail. In a smooth motion she pulls herself up to plant her feet just oustide her hands and repeat, over and over to the roof. From there, Spoiler two-finger salutes over the edge and down to Nathaniel before disappearing from sight. She'll tail him until he gets to where he's safe before heading back on her route.

@SpoiledBat: @GothamPD Your response time still sucks guys! #SpoilerAlert : Do I need to turn on a GPDSignal or what?

"Dropping… oh, if I am in danger will you stay with me?" Joking! He is leaving right now, see? Nathaniel pulses some panels on the bracer. Then looks up at Spoiler, and waves. A second later he vanishes in a flash of Star-Trek style teleportation.

Spoiler had been by the edge typing her tweet at GPD, expecting Nathaniel to start doing the normal thing like WALKING to the bus stop. But when he just pokes at his bracer, Spoiler pauses and leands over the edge to see better. Her eyes squint. She saw the wave and considered waving back. In fact, her hand was lifting with…

"…..Oh, that's not going to go over well," she mutters, awe and surprise on her features beneath the mask at the tiny fading motes of Star Trek teleportation. "Tim's gonna flip." is whispered of her geeky ex-boyfriend. She can imagine how he's going to react to her describing this. She takes a breath to collect herself, finishes her tweet, and moves on.
