Fade In…

"What was -this- I hear about you trying to bite a boy today, princess?" Roy Harper growls, as he picks up his young four years old daughter, frowning at her as he rests her against his hip.

Aboard the ship 'Starfire', named after its captain, the Harpers were standing at the bridge, where a grumpy K'tten had just delivered Lian from daycare. What K'tten had to say about that, Roy had a feeling, he'd hear an earful about, -particularly- if said boy had been around when the ship's navigator had shown up.

"He said a bad thing about aliens," Lian protests, after giving her father a brief hug, and then scowling as she pulls back to explain her actions. "Boys are -soooo- stoooopid."

"Princess, just because someone says something stupid doesn't mean they're stoooopid… are you rolling your eyes at me, K'tten?"

Whatever K'tten might have said, though, was interupted by a alarm. Jerking his head towards the viewscreen, Roy blinks. "… Uh, if I'm not wrong, that was … the proximity alarm, right? So what's on the way? A spaceship? A meteor?"

Aboard the ship 'Starfire', named after its captain, the Harpers were standing at the bridge, where a grumpy Kori had just delivered Lian from daycare. What Kori had to say about that, Roy had a feeling, he'd hear an earful about, -particularly- if said boy had been around when Starfire had shown up.

"He said a bad thing about aliens," Lian protests, after giving her father a brief hug, and then scowling as she pulls back to explain her actions. "Boys are -soooo- stoooopid."

"Princess, just because someone says something stupid doesn't mean they're stoooopid… are you rolling your eyes at me, K'tten?" Roy directs, having caught sight of K'tten's motion.

Whatever K'tten might have said, though, was interupted by a alarm. Jerking his head towards the viewscreen, Roy blinks. "… Uh, if I'm not wrong, that was … the proximity alarm, right? So what's on the way? A spaceship? A meteor?"

Once Peter learned that they hung about on a spaceship, he had a bearing in where to look. And it's not like he doesn't have more than plenty of his own tech at his disposal. Something that could pick up that particular kind of energy signature just floating out in mid-air. And since this is likely the only ship around, he kinda put two and two together. Shoving a few things in his satchel, he touches the back of his ear, causing his helmet to encompass over his face, followed by his boots firing and throwing him into the air.

If he wanted to, he could leave the bounds of Earth's atmosphere, but then again, not like there's any place to go, and hauling around a jumpdrive for his boots would get a little bulky. Still, following the energy blip on his HUD of his helmet, he eventually closes in, taking in a familiar shape. That's not a class of ship seen all that much. Might as well make an introduction, because he's hanging out near the fore of the ship, sitting cross-legged on the viewing windows.

Knock Knock. Then a wave. By the man in the trench wearing a helmet that a kind of demonic visage, with the whole red glowing eyes thing.

It was better Kori go on that call anyway. Where as she is the calmer wave, K'tten is her tidal wave and they'd have likely had to put Lian in another daycare afterward because they ALL would have heard K'tten's own woes in a manner that requires subtitles and *Bleeps*, possibly even some repairs to doors.

This is also why Kori is spearheading a magazine for equal rights and for mutants, metas, and others to be heard. Humans get theirs, so after she got back with her agency they agreed rather readily to be on board. It wouldn't be if Kori went in like K'tten felt. The boy learned Lian bites and gets flights home for her 'misbehavior'. Eat your heart out.

To Roy K'tten stares, glares and nods. "No, they're stupid. And yes I rolled my eyes at you." And she does it again.

Kori is just standing there with her palm over her face, the armor suit of silver coating with purple accents faded to leave just the straps and scant covering of purple armor that resides over her tawny huen skin in effigy of a bikini. "Maybe her and Nathaniel hit another wrong button." Kori mutters, but to show the jest she walks over to the monitors at K'tten's side.

Speaking back towards Roy, though, she does not contradict him like K'tten. "No more biting, Lian. Be smarter then them." A wink the little girls way and Roy gets a smirk, but that's broken by K'ttens yell.

"X'Hal what is that insect!? Get it off!" The large rounded windows of the drive hull show them all there as well as him perched…. And K'tten turns on the "wipers" with the window spray on him, but while he is battling that from behind him a rather large cannon lifts from the metal interior, spinning and taking aim.

They like their space bugs clean and dead?

"They're already stoooopid," Lian protests. Not like it was hard to be smarter than -that-.

Roy, however, is more concerned with the object showing on screen. "What… hey, that's no spaceship, it's a… flying -person-…!" Roy interjects, immediately putting Lian down, and moving quickly towards the viewscreen. "Wh… you have -wipers- on this ship?!" Somehow, Roy never thought of spaceships having -wipers-. What were those things… wait, getting sidetracked. "Nevermind that…! Look at who it is first…!"

The suit looked familiar. The helmet, not nearly so much, but the suit was enough for Roy to immediately try and slap at whatever he'd seen K'tten do. "Turn it off…!"

Wipers on ships, yeah, they're a thing. Especially if the ship can fly in an atmosphere. Peter wasn't exactly expecting them to get turn on, but he rolls out of the way, spinning on his knees to rise up slightly, on his feet, and raising to his feet and stepping over each wiper every time they pass by his feet. "Shit! I just wanted to return your shit!" he yells at the windshield. Which is pointless.

"Oh goddamnit…" he sighs, seeing the cannon pop out the hull. Then he suddenly, blast off, out of sight, flying down along the hull of the ship and straddling the back of the cannon like a bucking bronco. And now he's Slim Pickins, riding the bomb down. "Whoo-hoo! C'mon little doggie!" he laughs, pulling a hand into a trench coat pocket, slapping a small device against the cannon. It makes a 'brrrzzzt-zap!' noise before going dead. Yeah, he just took out one of their cannons. Don't worry, it'll come back online in five minutes.

"Yes, wipers, they work when you hit random space vagrants while travelling, or if we breach atmosphere." K'tten says, the sprayers though, well… Most of it K'tten finagled. She gets bored!

Roy stepping in has Starfire stepping back while K'tten and him fall into their usual antics of slap-poke-shove fights. "I'll just go…" A thumb over her shoulder and she walks past the controls, hitting a button and waiting as the coordinates are keyed in, a warning buzz….

"Oh, it's on! He just took out my…"

Then Peter and the cannon are gone and finding themselves reappearing on the bridge just before them all, beamed in from the face of the ship with Kori leanng against the edge of the console, arms folded across her chest. "Is there a reason…"

"That he was riding Gamma like a western beast of burden!" And then it clicks for K'tten, Kori just utterly detached it as well as its rider. Glare.

"As I was asking. What brings you here?" Kori asks, borne on a long exhale that is her seeking her zen place.

If he had to wrestle K'tten for control of the board, he was going to do so, pushing and shoving till the wipers stopped.

And if he had to mash K'tten's head to the dashboard, so be it.

Of course, the point becomes moot -once- Peter is beamed aboard, and Roy looks up, trying to squirm free from -his- own head being mashed to the station.

"Oh hey. Uh, Peter Quill, right?" Roy manages to get out, as he scrambles to push K'tten's head further down.

Lian Harper, meanwhile, looks at Kori. "Is he Superman?"

"You beamed your gun in here." Peter comments, looking down at his mount. He pities whoever is going to have to wire that thing back into the bulkhead of the ship. Slipping off, he taps the back of his helmet, causing it melt away, revealing his face. "Ah, I thought you going to shoot me." a glance back at the cannon. "EMP mine. Don't worry, it'll work in about five, ten minutes or so. Oh, by the way, whoever pointed that thing at me, middle finger for ya." It's a verbal one, less than a physical one. There's kids around.

"Hey, well, I mentioned to you that I had a couple of your people's relics. Not a lot, but I'm not doing anything with them, so here you go." Pulling his satchel off his shoulder, he hands it over to Kori."

A wave is given to Roy. "Hey, and yeah. Thought I'd drop by. Your energy signal is pretty easy to find." The kid gets a chuckle. "Nah, he's a lot nicer than me. But thanks for the compliment."

K'tten bites a finger, or whatever is closest to her when Roy attempts to counter press her again in the fight for… Just because at this point. But the moment Peter is on board Kori is in front of Lian who is already chiming in with her innocent and yet very serious questions.

"K'tten has been looking for improvements to make, Gamma is old, needs updated." There's underlying meaning to Kori's words as Peter reveals who he is and she eases down, the perse glow radiating from her hand even as she reaches for the bag he offered.

"I pointed it at you. Come closer with that finger." A flip and straighten of her mohawk and K'tten glares her entire pace to the cannon, hefting the heavy weapon up with ease to drag it behind the station, the connection of a rigged headset on the shaven side of her head flares to life with a light blue glow. But when he mentions the Tamaranean relics the blue glow fades and those pupilless emerald eyes are on the bag and Kori.

"I am sorry for your welcome, but we do have to be…careful." Kori states, opening the bag and pulling some of the items free to display.

A glance towards Roy then with a small smile, yes, Kori quite cloaking their presence in atmosphere so his work would let up…Maybe.

Yanking his finger back as he lets up on K'tten, Roy straightens up, shaking his head at Lian. "No, princess, he's Peter. Though if he has a codename, I don't know it yet," he adds, heading over to ruffle Lian. "He's from Earth, but I didn't expect him to show up here. Guess those rocket boots of yours can break atmosphere. But that helmet…?"

"Not an issue." Peter shrugs. "I can survive in space just fine with the helmet." Though he takes K'tten's threat in stride, simply smiling at the mohawked one. "Careful. Seems everyone is 'careful' these days. But I said I had stuff that belongs to your people, so there you go. I have no need for it and whoever told me to…retrieve it isn't going to be getting it anytime. A shame, he was paying an awful lot of credits." Does he mean steal? Probably. But probably steal from someone who was likely pretty nasty themselves.

"Most of my things are Shi'ar, Skrull, Nova Corps, and even some Brood tech. So finding your ship, eh, there's not many power signitures that sit in low-orbit that give off that much electron and kinetic energy emissions. Anyhow, I won't stay long, just wanted to drop that off for you. And offer my services if you're ever looking for a mercenary, thief, bounty hunter, and all charming guy. And being half-alien myself, hey, this is a bit homey." A grin at that.
"Oh right. Star-Lord is my codename." If you've been in space, it's possible someone may of heard that name. Rather…infamous.

K'tten is almost ignoring Peter in his spiel, her eyes are on the relics like a cat that has a feather floating in front of her. Tamaraneans are an alien felinoid in part anyway, so it is fitting. With a small smile Kori hands the relic over in completion to K'tten who takes them gingerly and heads back to the console. They will be fine combed and then run through the database. K'tten spent less time in Tamaran then Kori did, but that did not make her miss it any less.

"Sometimes careful is better then hurting innocent people, hm?" Kori responds to Peter with a small smile as she heads towards the Captain's chair, withdrawing a briefcase and setting it down. Opening it and withdrawing a check.

"Star-Lord? I have not. Do you have a bank here yet?" Random question, but one with meaning, Kori's agency set one up for her and she just puts the money paper in and slides the plastic when she wants something.

"Well, you would fit right in here then. No need to race off, if you wish to stay.." A small gesture and the floor is his, a glance to Roy to double check.

Star-Lord didn't ring a bell, but then again, Roy hadn't really -travelled- interstellarly… yet. The Omega Men had plans to storm a Citadel at some point, but somehow, for one reason or another, Tigorr hadn't -quite- gotten the armaments together. Yet.

Kori's invitation is met with a shrug. Her ship, her rules, her call. Roy himself didn't have an issue, and Lian, meanwhile, is inching closer, curious about the costume and the armament Peter wore. "What's that?" she asks, poking at the weapon.

"As much as I love money," And Peter really does love getting paid, as that's a whole part of being a mercenary and thief, he sighs. "This is my good deed for the day, such as it is. Take them. I may be a lot of things, but I'm not heartless. No payment needed." At his core, Peter is a good man who does questionable and/or bad things. But he does have a conscience.

When Lian asks the question about his weapons, he smiles a little. "Uh…" he pauses a little. "Just…something for personal protection. Not really for kids, y'know." he decides on saying, having no idea if her parents really want her exposed to that kind of stuff. However, the offer that Kori gives him is one that he honestly considers. "Thanks for the offer. And I'll consider it, sure." It's a maybe, but he doesn't make commitments lightly.

The turn down of money has Kori folding the check then and putting it back. Closing the briefcase she shrugs. "I see no problem with paying you for your kindness. What is it you need then?" Kori inquires. "Relics from a planet and people destroyed do not come easy, especially back where they belong. I will repay you somehow for now…"

A clearing of K'tten's throat has a monitor swiveling and then flickering to project the data across the spanse of opposing wall. And there, was a wonderful mug-shot of Peter's truly. A moment of silence as the screen gives them breakdowns even to the prices on his head or apprehension.
Case file numbers run down the left —

S10-376-01L Mercenary, thief of items from ships to trinkets of varying use and danger levels. what was assumed still in his possession listed and blinking.
S10-376-02L A breakdown of his skills from possible fighting styles, to what he has managed to hit people with aside from his fists. armed and dangerous.
Nova Corps: Grand theft, assault, murder, breaking and entering, smuggling, *censored* public behavior and a mayor of one systems city-state wants him in for…
*Click* Starfire turns it off.

Lian's question breaks the silence and Peter's response does not seem to really phase the current situation, let alone the scroll of data.

"Do not take the invitation as a must. It is a returned kindness that it looks like you may need. We are not so different, perhaps." A small smile though and Kori picks Lian up, taking her back towards Roy.

"Seriously, had I known what I was taking was apart of your people to begin with, I wouldn't of taken the job. Or well, I would've and just found the nearest Tamaranean I saw and handed them over. Sure, I steal from dead cultures, but only if the culture has been dead for a couple of centuries. But really, don't worry about it."

At list of all the charges levied against him, he just chuckles, raising his hand. "Yep, guilty as charged. They never did list arson on that one. But that might've destruction of property when I crashed that ship into their moon. That city state /really/ liked that moon."
