Fade In…

Cindy Moonclicked her tongue, awkwardly shifting her position in the seat some as she tries to stretch away the butterflies which had taken flight in her stomach. It wasn't every day that you got to talk to Captain America, it also wasn't every day that you got to talk to Captain America about joining the /Avengers/. Normally, it wasn't something she would consider, but, well, extenuating circumstances and what not. She was in an awkward position and it would only get worse the more she thinks about it, she had been on one good mission with the group at large and another with SHIELD, so- well, it wasn't out of the question but, she liked to think she was a street level hero? The Avengers just seemed like such a step, but, they had resources and… Well… That's what she needed.

So there she was, waiting outside in the little atrium and awkwardly playing with her fingers as she waits for the Captain to make his apperance. Yeah, she's just meeting Captain America… Ahaha…

Cindy is dressed in her hero-y getup, her crimson scarf pulled down and resting around her neck. You know, what's the point of the costume if you're not even trying?

What passes for the atrium here at Fort Kirby is the old office building that used to house the General who used to run this place. Granted, Grunt and Hawkes have done a good job gussying it up a little bit. They got some marble tile for cheap from a dealer who was helped out by the pair from an earlier mission.

Steve, in full Cap gear aside from the helm, exits out of the General's old office (which Grunt is using as his 'base of operations', as he calls it). "Moon. Good to see you. Before we start I want to thank you for your help back at the school."

Now Spider-Woman.. she's met Cap a couple times. Granted the first time his first words were, 'who the hell is she?' to other Avengers when she.. well snuck onto their base… yeah a warehouse in Jersey counts as a base from time to time.
Okay so she kinda party crashed a training scenario there and.. yeah, she wasn't supposed to be there. But she helped! And then she was there when people tried to blow up a building Cap was in. But now she's running late because.. well because she's a Mom. She couldn't just run out on Rachel when the girl was so looking forward to weekly Warm Cider Wednesday… so the two of them warmed the cider, put in some spices, and sat and watched some of a favorite animated movie together.
Then the SHIELD babysitter took over and Mom dashed out and booked it to Fort Kirby. As fast as she was able to go. Which.. isn't like Flash fast, or even Cap fast. But she used her webbing liberally and drops out of the sky now out front… a bit winded as she comes in the door in her own full costume. "Sorry I'm late!" she offers as she pauses to catch her breath.

Cindy Moon blinked, tilting her head back as she stares upward at Steve. "Y-you too!" She stammers, yep, there's the tiny bit of red working along her cheeks once more as she coughs. Alright, it wasn't because he was a super hunk or anything of the sort, it is more that she's being adressed by a living breathing legend! She was largely absent during much of his 'work', with the bunker and whatnot, but she still very much appreciates the gravity of this situation! And well, she feels like a little kid meeting a superhero, which isn't far from the truth, being a little spider staring up at a super hero. "And well, just doing my best." She adds softly, one hand quickly going up to self conciously tuck back a lock of hair. "I mean, it would have been a little /too/ cliche for the rookie to botch the whole thing, right?" She asks, working out an awkward smile.

"So! Uhm, thank you for seeing me, I just, had a couple of questions if I could…" She trials off, playing her tongue along the inside of her cheek before she glances towards the door. There's a nice little awkward half wave directed to Julia.

So, I'm sure you all know why I gathered you here tonight…

Steve smiles as Spider-Woman approaches. "Not a problem. We were just getting started. Silk is here to discuss the Avengers. I'd hoped you might be willing to discuss the same thing. Both you and she really helped out at the school. And you've helped us out a few times. I'm hoping the both of you might be interested in membership."

Steve turns back and nods to Cindy. "Yeah, I think all in all it went pretty well. It would have been better if we got to that kid before he got his weapon, but at least he lived."

"It would be awesome to be a part of a team." offers Spider-Woman as she gives Silk a grin and a half wave. "I'm already kind of.. off books working with SHIELD. Plus.. I have -no- idea how I am going to juggle both of those, and my daughter without her learning what Mommy's doing when she goes out."
She pauses and shrugs, "I just hope that when she does learn about it, she's proud of me. Because I am -not- going to say no to an invitation from Captain America."

Cindy Moon does another little self concious shift, hand going up once more to play with her hair as Steve says her (awesome) codename once more. She's struggling with all the angst and pride imaginable! She should feel good about this! She's being invited to join the avengers! Her! The Avengers! Captain America! Squealing! But! But, she's still just kind of silently dying as she coughs under her breath once more. "Thanks…" She mumbles, the tinge becoming all the more pronounced as she purses her lips. "And yeah! I'm still, well, that was a thing…" She didn't want to open that can of worms, regarding the kid, simply because she wasn't /there/ for it, but she had made a note to ask Bobbi something in that regard. But, things will come!

"Yeah! And same, but… Erh… Like I said, I have a few questions." Cindy echoes the other spider, awkwardly twiddling her fingers as she tilts her head down some more. Despite being barely younger than Julia, she looks positively youthful beside her.

"And we'd be happy to have you, Spider-Woman. As far as SHIELD, I also work for them, and I would be lying if I didn't say it kept me busy. At the same time, we pride ourselves on understanding our members have duties, and heroic ones, outside of the purview of our team. As far as a child, well, I can't speak to that, but Grunt has a family."

Cap nods, "Yes, Silk. What sorts of questions do you have?"

"I'll definitely do my best to keep up with everything but.. in the end, the most important job I have is Mother." says Spider-Woman. "But I will be there however I can. So, where do I sign?" she inquires.
But she turns her head and looks to Silk as Cap inquires about her own questions.

Cindy Moon coughs, again! She's trying to work through the easiest way to put this, but the nice flowery way of expressing herself is right out the window as she slouches somewhat. "Well… I need information." Was it super innapropriate to already be asking for terms to joining the Avengers? Absolutely! But she couldn't help but blurt it out, as if her mouth knew she was desperate for the help that she would otherwise just push under the surface and try to avoid. Cindy is /very/ good at ignoring her problems, and especially at placing all of her burdens on her own shoulders. "… That sounded a lot more dark than I meant it to." She adds in a soft voice.

Have no doubt, this took an immense amount of courage on her part, and her positively angst ridden awkward demeanor is evident of that.

"Well, we need to have the other members vote. It won't take long, but by saying you're an Avenger, you're basically an Avenger. It should take a few days to get everyone's vote in, but it won't be any issue," Steve says to Julia. "We look forward to having you."

Cap shrugs his shoulders, "What sort of information are you looking for?" He shrugs his shoulders. "I'm willing to answer any question or give any information that I can."

Cindy Moon is right back to playing with her hair, chewing on her bottom lip some before letting out a long breath and casting her eyes downward. "My family, they're uh… Missing." She starts, shuffling a bit as she works up the courage once more. It was kind of her worst kept secret, right up there with 'I lived in a bunker for ten years' and 'I wear striped underwear'. "So, probably information you wouldn't know! But eh, I kind of figured that the Avengers would have the resources…" She's trailing right off again as she tilts her head back. Yeah, alright, maybe that's why she was interested in SHIELD. She's… Pretty terrible huh?

"I mean- I mean! I'm honored to even be considered! And I would love to help and I don't mean to be putting these conditions on anything and I understand if it's too much to ask…" And she's running a mile a minute now.

Narrowing her eyes, Spider-Woman turns her head to look right towards Silk. "What?!" she exclaims, "You didn't mention this before?" She shakes her head and adds, "Okay, either way, -I'm- helping you find them. You are my friend.. and besides.." She smirks a bit, "Us Spiderbabes gotta stick together, right? Plus, I look forward to making -them- pizza too." But she looks to Cap and shrugs, "I can't speak for the Avengers but… missing family, that's kinda.. right up the heroic lane, right?"

"It's not too much to ask, Silk. Just recently you threw yourself in a very dangerous situation. If those devices had been life, you might have lost your life. But you threw yourself in for a couple hundred school kids. If you're in trouble, Avenger or not, I will do everything in my power to help you."

He nods towards Spider-Woman, "What I'm saying is I agree wholeheartedly."

Cindy Moon also totally tossed herself on top of a suicide bomber with a live bomb! She knows this game! (And she's getting tired of the explosives thing!) "Eh, well… I keep it kind of keep it close to chest?" She replies oh so very awkwardly, rubbing the back of her head as she lets a small bit of a smile work along her face. "And, well, on top of that I've spent most of the last year working on it myself." She adds, you know, since it was the first thing she tried to get fixed once she was out of the bunker! But well, apparently some people can be dissapeared very well.

"A-Aw, Captain hunk… Really, I'm going to blush." She starts, clicking her tongue. "You know, that goes for both of you."

"You're already one of Rachel's best friends. I mean seriously.." she leans in close to Silk and murmurs, "She's callin' you Aunt Cindy." And she drapes an arm over the 'barely' younger woman's shoulders. "We practically -are- family already. So… why don't you tell us what you know about their disappearance already, and…" she looks to Cap with a shrug. "And we'll see if we can't put some good investigative minds on it. I'm already pretty well trained in the espionage game, so I might be able to put my own spin on it."

Steve nods and seems to echo, "I have some friends in other superhero communities as well. I bet many of them would be happy to assist." He looks to Spider-Woman and then back at Silk, "We have a lot of experience at our fingertips, and I'm confident that we will have success in finding your family. And we'll begin right away."

Cindy Moon is once more, a nice cherry red as the praise and encouragement is heaped on, the young women puffing up her cheeks before letting out a long sigh. "You two… Are way too helpful…" She remarks softly, almost a grumble as she lets her hands rest on her hips. "It's… A lot of information, may be better if I pass it off through email or something like that." She has a whole little investigation wall set up, with webs instead of little lines of stringe, because naturally. "And, thank you. Both of you." She adds, putting on the biggest grin she possibly can.

"But uh, I should say, I'm still really new to this whole hero thing."

"Everyone was new once upon a time. And you're going to make mistakes. What's important is that you learn from them and do your best to right them. Take a look at Superboy. He had a difficult mission a couple of days ago and I know the kid is going through a hard time right now. But he'll rebound. It's part of the process. No one is perfect, and here, Silk, you'll have a lot of people to learn from and adapt your own set of skills in a way that's right for you."

"You mean the boy of Iron?" Cindy asks, trying her best to put on a cocky smile before she lets out another sigh, letting her head tilt to the left. Yeah, she can't even keep it up! "But, thanks! This, well, I guess it'll be the first time getting off the streets if that makes any sense? It's mostly been ditzing around and beating on petty criminals or guys who's names sound like pokemon." She plays off, waving her hand some. "But, I'll do my best! And welllll… The help is appreciated." Alright, now Captain Hunk is looking VERY hunky again, since her horrible little secret has been aleviated at least SOMEWHAT.

Cindy Moon says, "So, you won't kick me off the team for saying stupid things?"

"No, well. I mean, we have Joe Fixit and Shift. The worst that you'll have to do is throw a nickel in the swear jar," Captain America says with a smile. He tilts his head towards the exit. "Come on, I'll show you the barracks."

Cindy Moon blinks ever so slowly. "Wait- wait wait, you have a swear jar?" She asks, her eyes narrowing. "… You still use nickles?"
