Fade In…

The corridor outside of Fitz's lab in the Triskelion building is not HEAVY foot traffic, but people pass by often enough that wandering without an escort might be a bad idea for anyone with a 'Visitor' badge. But, just now, the hallway appears to be clear.

~

Out of Fitz's lab comes Felicity. After the scare on Staten Island and the subsequent aftermath, the blonde computer genius is out to get a glass of water. A worried Fitz insisted she get checked out by Simmons and she must admit she was more than curious to see the place that her boyfriend worked so many hours. Her visitor's badge is clipped a bit haphazardly onto a pocket on her shirt. In her hand is an empty plastic cup. There's got to be a place where she can get a bottle of water, right?

~

Just a short distance down the hall is a small break room, boasting a sink AND one of those ubiquitous water coolers with the 5-gallon bottle on top. The coffee maker, however, looks and smells just a little bit suspicious.

~

Luckily for Felicity, she's not here for coffee, just some water. Happy that she found the break room she was directed to, she moves inside and sighs. Moving right for the water cooler, she sets the plastic cup underneath it and pulls down on the spigot.

~

It's just a water cooler. Nothing special about it, honest. The water coming out of it is even nicely chilled. However, when the young woman turns to head back to Fitz's lab, Agent Melinda May will be standing there in the breakroom doorway, leaning casually against the doorframe and completely blocking the escape route.

~

After getting her water, Felicity picks it up and takes a long drink. As she does so, she turns around and starts a few steps forward before realizing there's someone completely blocking the doorway. With a yelp, she drops the cup of water on the floor and puts a hand on her chest. "Crap on a cracker!" she blurts before she can even think of what she is saying. Taking a few deep breaths she steps backward. "Oh, uh, sorry," she tells May, not knowing who she is - only that she is standing in the doorway. "I'll, uh, I'll clean that up. Just, you know, getting back to where I need to go."

~

The Asian woman, shorter than Felicity almost entirely because of a difference in footwear, gestures slightly toward the paper towel dispenser near the sink. She's rocking the whole Vulcan thing at the same time. No smile, no emotional response whatsoever from her face. "Visitors aren't supposed to wander the hallways unescorted."

~

"I'm…I'm not wandering. Exactly." Felicity moves to the paper towel dispenser and grabs a bunch of them. Then, she mops up the water spill as best she can, tossing the whole soggy mess in the trash can along with her plastic cup. She's without water now. At least she got a cup. "I was…Leo, I mean, uh Fitz…he told me where the water was. I…he wanted Simmons to make sure I was okay. So. That's why I'm here. I didn't wander. Not far. I'll just, you know, go right back there. No harm done. Sorry for spilling water on the floor!"

~

The woman continues with the whole Vulcan vibe, quirking a single eyebrow at hearing Fitz'a name. "Ms. Smoak. You talk more than your file implies." She straightens to step away from the doorframe, though she's still totally blocking the path. When she crosses her arms, the faint glint of metal peeks out of one sleeve of her leather-looking jacket. Yes, she's wearing a leather jacket in July.

~

At the mention of her name, Felicity's eyebrows raise practically into her hairline. "WhHow-" She should know by now that they are a spy agency and could know her name. But, the thought still panics her. She looks at the leather jacket, the crossed arms, the scary expression. "If-if that file knew me it would know I talk a lot. Who are you? And how exactly do you know who I am?"

~

Agent May takes a single step toward Felicity, quite possibly pushing her further back into the break room. "Your file also said you have nearly unparalleled hacking skills. That requires logic. What is your logic telling you right now?"

~

At the single step forward, Felicity blinks. "A-Agent May?" Fitz has talked about the scary agent who he would trust with his life, but at times the stories he told made her think he either exaggerated quite a bit or made her up. This is. Well. This is not an exaggeration.

~

May confirms Felicity's guess with a single nod, then one hand snakes toward the blonde and … opens the fridge door. She then pluck out a chilled water bottle and offers it to the young woman. "No more wandering the halls." She'll follow Ms. Smoak back to Fitz's lab and make sure both the engineer and the hacker know she's not to leave unescorted again.

~

Felicity notices there is bottled water in there and gasps. "Oh! Bottled—" she looks at May and takes the bottled water, pulling it to her chest and giving the Agent an awkward smile. "Thanks." As they move down the hallway, she keeps sneaking glances at the woman she's heard so much about and started to doubt the existence of. "I-I won't," she promises and then ducks into Fitz's lab, properly terrified of May and chastised.

~

After leading the wayward hacker back, Agent May gives Felicity and anyone else in the lab a nod and then continues on her way.
