Harry Osborn wasn't raised very well. He's a product of that upbringing, which in this case means he had some great tutors, some great nannies, but had very little interaction with his father Norman. Through the kids at his private school, he learned how to socialize with people his own age, and through the public school he was transferred to, he learned how to be popular. Money helps, and Harry's always got a good deal of that with him. It is part of who he is, that wealth, the sizeable inheritance that's towering over him, along with the controlling share of Oscorp.
Yet Harry himself was shaping up into a fine young man, until bad things happened to good people. Since the loss of one of the few real friends he had, young Osborn's anger is proving a mirror for his father's. The outside world, the tabloid reporters, they see a young man who's truly enjoying the lifestyle his money is affording him. A party brat, looking more and more like he's due to go off the rails any month now without his father around to guide him.
The injustices of the world are easily escaped, however, with the right substances. While Harry is a friendly guy, he most assuredly has problems. His father was never there, but now his father is gone. There's new pressures, meetings he has to be at with lawyers, accountants, his father's yes men that all say they just want to look after Harry until he can take over the family business.
Catch him on a good day, and he's quick-witted, charming. Catch him when the growing darkness has taken him, and you'll find a shade of his father, the wit turned sharp as a knife, the cuts thoughtful and deep.
Gobl-intelligence |
Although Harry's always tried to downplay it, he's actually a very smart man. The best tutors helped with that, but his genes helped as well. The young man is just plain smart. The Goblin Formula, however, augmented /everything/ about Harry, and that means his intelligence has gone well into genius levels. How he chooses to apply this intelligence will be told in due time, but there's some smarts behind those tabloid-cover looks. |
Goblin-reflexes |
Harry always had great reflexes. Can't be dropping a beer or a bottle of liquor, now! But with the Goblin Formula, these reflexes have been escalated to a superhuman level. The synapses are firing faster, the twitch muscles are working in overdrive. He could easily fend off several attackers at once, if required, and can evade short bursts of gunfire. |
Goblin-stamina |
Not unlike the Energizer Bunny, the Goblin is able to keep going and going and going. Due to the way his body has been enhanced, Harry is able to delay the onset of muscle fatigue by several hours, allowing himself to continue at peak capacity for that time. |
Goblin-body |
After imbibing the Goblin Formula, Harry Osborn's body has been augmented in ways he does not truly understand. But what he does understand is that thanks to the Serum, he has been gifted with abilities well beyond a mere man. He is now superhuman.
On a cellular level, his body has been altered, the bones and tissues that make up his body enhanced to protect him and keep him alive. Bruises fade within hours, knife wounds in days, broken bones in weeks. While it's not precisely a healing factor, it is impressive all the same. His overall density has increased — the muscle tissues are fortified, tougher and denser. As a result, Harry can survive falls from great heights, withstand pummeling blows, and shrug off blasts that would kill or maim a regular human with little to no injury to show for it.
With every part of his body just firing on all cylinders, he's also in possession of balance and grace that are well beyond human limits, and should he apply himself, he'd no doubt make a great appearance on Dancing With The Stars. Please look forward to that. |
Goblin-speed |
That Serum really does wonders for one's speed. While the Olympics are somewhat farcical now with all the superpowered individuals out there, Harry, as the Goblin, can run at speeds approaching 40 miles per hour. |
Goblin-strength |
As a result of the Goblim Serum, Harry is in possession of superhuman strength. At peak conditions, he is able to lift upwards of 10 tons with some considerable effort. His body is also able to withstand the use of this strength; his bones and tissues are likewise stronger. This also allows him to jump higher and further, but he's not powered by a radioactive spider — he can jump about 20 feet into the air, and with a brief jogging start can make bounds of up to 50 yards. |
Wealth |
While technically a trust fund baby until he turns 21, Harry still has access to what is tantamount to a fortune by most people's standards. For anything truly extravagant he may need to go through his minders, but he's gradually working them over to his way of thinking. He also has access to cars, a private jet, a helicopter, and properties across the globe including a ridiculously large penthouse on top of a Manhattan skyscraper. |
Hired Goons |
The future for Harry includes a Fortune 500 company with a very tight connection to the United States military. There's a potential target on Harry's back. So he has some people minding him, most of the time, including a bodyguard that is rarely seen or heard from. If required however, Harry can call in quite a few hired underlings to perform tasks both great and small, from tying his shoes to knocking someone's teeth in. |
Goblin Glider |
The Glider is a small flying platform, which looks really cute, that can reach speeds of up to 90 mph. It can carry upwards of 500 lbs, and has a fuel supply to last for an hour before conking out. It can be controlled remotely with the right equipment. |
Goblin Tech |
Beyond the suit and the glider, the Goblin has access to a variety of other items in his bag of tricks, ranging from explosives in the shape of jack-o-lanterns through to razor-sharp projectiles in the shape of bats.
The Goblin Bombs come with a variety of different options like grenades do. Harry could throw an incendiary that will burn hot enough to melt through thick steel in moments; concussive sound and light devices; gas, hallucinogenic or otherwise; big kabooms.
The Razor Bats, well, there's a motif going on here, y'know? |
Goblin Suit |
The Goblin suit is garish and ugly, but beauty is in the eye of the beholder. It is a battlesuit, designed to offer the wearer additional protection with its special weave, along with some cute tricks. The gloves of the suit are able to discharge electricity, enough to incapacitate with a long enough hold. The boots have small jets inside of them, allowing for limited flight. |
Oscorp |
When Harry comes into his controlling interest of Oscorp, he'll own over half the company and be able to guide it as he sees fit. In the interim, he knows a lot of people who worked for his father, particularly at the corporate headquarters, and they can be called on if required. |
Friends |
Harry doesn't make real friends very easily. He lost one, Gwen Stacy, so all he really has left in the friends department is Peter Parker, which is going to make dancing in a fountain very difficult. The bonds of friendship are intense for Harry, and he doesn't want to lose them. This can be exploited. |
Goblin Issues |
The Goblin Formula is making everything better for Harry, right? Not quite. It's also making him mentally unstable, and this is something that's going to get worse over time. He'll lose his temper at the drop of a hat, and his paranoia and abandonment issues are also going to increase over time. In short, he's unhinged, and it only gets worse from here. |
Daddy Issues |
A tricky issue, but Harry has some daddy issues that are unresolved, as his father is, as near as he knows, dead. He definitely isn't tormented by nightmares about his father dressing in a green Halloween suit and dying inside of it, not at all! These unresolved issues are eating away at Harry, who feels abandoned by his father. |
Anger Issues |
Whether it's genetic or not, Harry has a short fuse. Sometimes he flips out at things that should be water off a ducks back. In short, he can be a real dick, and that can hurt his relationships. |
Substance Abuse |
Harry has a nose for things. He likes escaping from the situations he's finding himself in through the abuse of illegal substances, and also alcohol. |
